Worthless
I have every kitchen gadget known to mankind, and this ranks among the worst wastes of money. It doesn't really work well, and just makes a mess of the garlic. Slicing by hand is easier, and there are better ways to mince. This thing is overly complicated. I would stay away from it, because there are much better products on the market that do these jobs WAY better. No offense to Microplane, because they have some great products. But they should never have put their name on this. Trust me you'll regret purchasing it and/or it will sit in the drawer until you throw it away.

Almost perfect
I wish this could be a little bit larger to make it easier to hold in my hands.Other than that it is very nicely designed. I can grate an entire bulb of garlic in just a short time which is wonderful for making my cream cheese garlic spread. Everything is easy to clean and it even has a small device to scrape out all of the garlic from the reservoir. I haven’t actually used the planer to make thin slices yet but I can’t imagine that it would be any less functional than the grater.

Awesome for its ease and utility
I was somewhat skeptical about this product even though it is a Microplane product. I have most of their products in my kitchen and all work better than advertised or described. This product was not a disappointment. It took a few minutes to figure out how it worked. I had read some of the 1 star reviews of this product and realized that the reviewers had not figured out how to use the product as I had, but once I had it working it does exactly as described and minces and slices garlic without any problems at all.I have a lot of garlic press/mincers in my kitchen gadgets drawers and cabinets but this one is going to replace a bunch of them. The secret to this device's use is getting the slide mechanism over the blade before putting it into the clear catch unit. Then when you finish you can pull the blade out of catch unit for cleaning. Sliding the slide unit to one end of the blade and tilt it away while pushing down on the opposite end of the blade (along the plastic edge to disengage it from the blade -- simple. It might be a single purpose product, but for what it's designed for it does it both efficiently and well. Another win for Microplane.

Cheaply Made
The product was difficult to assemble & disassemble. The cutting blade bent out of shape with the first use rendering it unusable.

Works great!
This is a great, compact little gadget that works great and is easy to clean. I’ve had several Pampered Chef ones over the years that are pricey but I kept losing the cleaning tool which made them that much harder to keep clean. I also like that this one contains the grated/sliced garlic until you’re ready to empty it. Very handy and easy to store.

Clever idea - Just doesn't work well....
Threw mine out today. It doesn't work well and is a pain to clean. The item is advertised to mince but it doesn't. It shreds exactly like you would have if you used a grater. Fine if you like your garlic grated, but then why not just use a grater? Much easier to clean. Tried several times to slice garlic and sometimes I could get it to produce paper-thin slices, but each time it stopped working after only a few slices. Not entirely sure why, but the blade seems to clog too easily. In any event, you have to peel the cloves exactly as you would prepare them for other uses. A knife gives you faster mince and far less clean-up.
