Thought this item sounded too good to be true, especially given the reasonable cost. However due to Care Home issues with a relative, desperately needed some way to investigate possible mistreatment.Item was dispatched from seller same day and arrived neatly packed and with clear instructions.Bought EE PAYG Sim (you'll need to put it in a 'ordinary' phone to validate voucher credit if using that - SIM is full size by the way) and was up and running within 5 minutes - you just phone the number related to the SIM card and get to hear the conversation at the other end. Have not tried the voice activated call back feature.Adaptor is secured by screws, and there is a tiny bit of wiring inside, but the whole thing is very easy to do if you follow the instructions.The only possible issue might be network marketing texts being received and causing a need to reboot, in which case Pay Monthly might be better than PAYG (since the latter receive texts related to top ups)Don't normally post reviews so quickly - but so far, so good.

Brought this product expecting to be a half decent listening device. I know its cheaper than a lot of it rivals and there's a good reason for that. The calling to it is perfect but the main problem is the microphone its terrible it picks everything up except the voices its so muffled. If you could put a better microphone in you would be on a winner.

Had some issue regarding a 'Low battery!?" warning (which was weird!?).. so i contacted the seller who was helpful in giving a reply and solution.. (basically it was a small voltage drop from the mains supply that would trigger the unit to send a text to my phone, saying the bug needed charging... which it doesn't as it runs on the mains).As for getting it to work you have to send the bug a pairing code,which is supplied, so it 'binds' to the phone that sent it after waiting a few minutes all was good. Call quality though was a bit hit and miss.. I guess this is due to the environment the bug is placed and the sensitive microphone built in that are voice activated.I found wearing a pair of Bluetooth earphones helpful in listening in, but there were still conversations hard to pick out.. If I were the developer I would ditch the voice activated call back feature as I think this is where the problem lies, as the bugs microphone triggers only when people talk.... Better to have an 'Always on' mic (once dialled) to stop the clipping.Other than that.. it does work, if your patient enough with it........P. S. as there's no British Standards kite mark (for obvious reasons) I'm a little unsure about pluging electronic stuff into it.. imo

Good price. Relatively easy to set up. Reasonable quality audio, occasionally muffled, but possibly down to position. Good all round experience.

Although a good concept, this units transmission is very poor. I have had many similar one bought from abroad that out strips this purchase. I have requested a return from seller, but have had no response.

It works as it says but the microphone is extremely sensitive and voices become very loud as much as can't understand what says who ever made this forgot to place the volume or resistor for microphone to adjust the sensitivity of microphone !
