Hafi Variety Pack Preserves Lingonberry, Wild Cloudberry, Gooseberry 14.1-ounce Jars (Pack of 3)

There was a mistake in my order and rather than use the slow process of contacting them through Amazon, I just picked up the phone and called. And am I glad I did! They are the nicest people and sent out the correct item immediately. I received it in just two or three days and am very happy. This jam is absolutely the best I have ever tasted! Cloudberry, Gooseberry, and Lingonberry… all of them have a wonderful flavor! These are all Swedish jams, and you cannot go wrong buying these. I am on my second order, and I will definitely be getting more!

Cloudberries are integral to native Norse cooking. They are foraged, grow fast and sweet at and above the Arctic Circle, and have large seeds for being such small berries. If your folks remember growing up in Norway, or you have a yearning to taste that delicious dessert you enjoyed on the coastal cruise up the west coast of Norway, you'd be happy to have jar of this to hand in your fridge. The average American consumer would find its taste too subtle, its texture too close to raw fruit, the seeds unpleasant, and the price offputting. A lovely product, but not likely to create a Food Network sensation.

Unfortunately, all the preserves arrived on June 2024 with an expiration date of December 2024, which is concerning given the six-month timeframe for consumption. The gooseberry preserves were the least sweet and had a tart flavor with a chunky texture. Lingonberry preserves bore a resemblance to cranberries in terms of taste. Although I did not have the opportunity to sample the cloudberry preserves, the seeds appeared larger, similar to those found in guavas. The value for money ($33) was poor, as all the preserves expired before I could consume them.

These preserves are delightful. I’ve just had them spread on fresh-baked sourdough with butter and a pot of hot tea, amd I am so satisfied. The cloud berry is subtle and sweet. The lingonberry is sharp, but still sweet. The gooseberry zings the jaw just perfectly. I am so pleased!

Flavors you usually can’t find. All good.

The gooseberry jam that came as a part of this three pack of jams was dented. The seal was broken, and the jam was spoiled. There were bubbles, indicating that it had been growing bacteria, and it was liquefied. I was unable to return this item for exchange, or for a refund.
