Works well
This cooker switch seems well made, was easy to fit, and works smoothly. It restores some confidence and comes at a lower price than the type it had to replace. Our previous switch - installed by qualified electricians - was clunky and stiff from new, then eventually stuck. I found it had burnt out and melted inside.

Lord of the rings
This is a review of BG Electrical Double Pole Cooker Control Unit With Single Socket and Power Indicator, 45 Amp, White. I liked most aspects of this product but there were one or two aspects which weren’t quite so brilliant.I liked the fact that the connectors for feed and load out were intelligently positioned so that you could twist the socket around in order to gain easier access to both sets of screws that you needed to tighten. I liked the fact that there is a neon indicator to remind you to switch the cooker feed off when you’ve finished cooking. I liked the fact that they provided five of the plastic circles to cover up the screws that hold the socket to the pattress or back box. You can guarantee that at some point your are going to be unscrewing it again, so it’s nice to have some spares. The other thing I liked was that it has a lower profile than the switch that it was replacing, which admittedly has probably been there for more than twenty five years, and the corners are nicely rounded. This means that it looks smarter.I don’t really see the point of having a neon indicator for the socket. I had loosened all the tightenable screws prior to attaching any wires, and I wasn’t too delighted when I had attached four out of six wires and then one of the screws for holding one of the earth wires decided to drop out and roll across our induction hob. It was quite a ball-ache to slot it back in. It also seems illogical to me to have the neon indicator for the cooker switch immediately above the word OFF. It would seem more logical to me to position it next to the word ON.When I want to turn on the induction hob and the oven, I now have one switch to control them all. Anyway, enough bad Lord of the Rings puns for the time being, overall this is a great product and I would recommend it.
