Worth Every Penny
We have a rescue Poodle/Bichon mix. He has been a real challenge but we love him. Barking noise level was more than we could stand; however, based on the discription of the product we bought this and the barking stopped within 2 weeks. This is worth every penny and even more.

Gets his attention
What a great attention getter, My husband ordered this and swears by it. When ever our dog gets too excited or barks too much my husband gives this a real hard shake and it's all over. Our dog stops what he's doing and immediately everything goes back to normal. My husband always makes sure that it's close by, This was a good buy.

Great Concept, Poor Execution
Having trained animals most of my life, a food shaker is a great way to redirect a dog's attention. It takes a training period of several days/weeks of acclimating dogs to the idea that the shake sound = treat. What's great about a shaker is that is loud enough and distinct enough (unlike your voice which you use for all sorts of occasions with your pup) to immediately grab their attention and redirect. The problem with this product is that it is mostly just an empty can that contains metal bits for the shake sound. Only a small zippered area at top is for treats. Usually, a shaker is a plastic container with a flip lid that you can shake (the dog treats inside make the noise) and quickly dispense. The zipper on this cheap and hangs up a lot, so it is not easy to use.Honestly, I thought this product was a variation of the flip lid variety or I would not have purchased. The shake noise is great, but it has a lot wasted space and the treat pouch is just too darn hard to access even if the zipper was well made (which it isn't).

Puppy Police
Puppies know when they are told to stop doing what they shouldn’t be doing. Just pick it up and they stop.

It’s actually making a difference!!! Yay!
I like the entire concept of this and I’m willing to try anything that doesn’t involve shocking my little mini poodles neck. That may work well for some people, but, and trust me, there’s plenty of times that I’ve said to him, “THAT’S IIT I’m ordering a SHOCK COLLAR, Pickles!!!” But he knows he runs the show around here and I’m just a big bag of wind and I’d never do it. So he just stares me and continues to do as he pleases.I ordered a different collar/remote thing from Amazon and it was just a vibration and a beep…it worked on and off and then I think he just got used to the sound and the feeling of it vibrating and it became useless. So, Im trying this. I simmered some chicken a little bit in the top zippered treat section. I cut up some little squares of parchment paper to line the zippered treat section (ans in the second picture), only because with chicken I didn’t want it to get funky, but normal dry treats - I wouldn’t bother. It is very well made. I was actually pleasantly surprised because I’d never seen a thing like this before. It’s a nice size and as I said, it has a small zippered compartment on the top, it’s cylindrical in shape and roughly 6” long. Fits nice in my hands and they’re on the small side. The second he barks I shake the bejesus out of it. Say, “NO BARKING” and hand him a treat. The only drawback is that you have to have the thing right near you whenever he barks, so if I’m in another room I have to go get it and sometimes by then he’s already stopped barking then He Sees It, knows there’s treats well, chicken in it and wants to follow me around for an hour to get me to give him one. I save different treats, his usual ones for a regular treat during the day, and save the chx for this training so it’s more of a special reward when he stops the barking. But this my theory on this…Because he sees it and knows what’s in it - that his reward is the special chicken and it’ll eventually click in his brain that it’s about his barking. And to knock it off!!At least that’s my plan. So far…🙃.As I said, so far so good. Fingers crossed! And If it continues to work the way it is so far, I will update this review from a 5 🌟 to a 100 🌟!!!!!
