The freedom of “look mom, no plug!”
The plug-in inversion is great; however, sometimes inconvenient. The 18 V allows me to move my car into the shade so I can polish any time of the day. I’ve even used it at the self-serve car wash.

This is the only buffer you will ever need!
If you own a car or boat, this is just the ticket. I bought a full-sized buffer first and found it to be a real pain to use. This one is just right for one handed operation. If you are a senior, this is the only one you need. Heavy enough to get the job done without needing both hands to control it. Another killer Ryobi product that uses the same 18-volt batteries as the rest of your collection.

Works fine for the application of wax
Simple buffer .. .good price. .. ..Would be nice to have it a little stronger but overall it works like it should.

Easy to Use
Our son loves to clean his first car. This is a great addition to his car care inventory. Who knew a 10 year old car with 130k miles could look so good!!

Absolute Trash
Zero stars would be better.Buffer broke first time out of the box. Didn’t even have 5 minutes run time. Its a piece of trash. Unless you want more frustration in your life, don’t but this.

Yet another Ryobi in the toolbox
Yes, I've bought in to the Ryobi ecosystem. I easily have a couple dozen different Ryobi cordless tools that I have collected over the last 40 years. I think in all that time, the only one that has outright failed me was the tire inflator. That one was a dud. I've also severely abused a corner sander to the point where it needs to be taken apart and re-lubed, and abusing one of the earlier multi-tools with the interchangeable head to the point of smoking during a remodel project. (It actually still works, but I replaced it with one of the newer brushless ones)While Ryobi may not have the reputation for the best commercial grade tools, I think for the average homeowner/hobbiest they are great. So, my expectations for the long term on this buffer are pretty good.I like the two-speed control. My previous plug-in one was only one speed, and you had to hold the button down the whole time. I like the locking power button and handle of this one much better. It's also smaller (6" vs my old one was an 8"), so easier to get into tighter spaces. It feels solid and seems to have more power than the plug in one. It's not much louder than the plug-in was either.I can't comment on battery life yet as I haven't used it long enough to completely run down a battery. I've used it mostly for quick jobs and a 1.5ah has been enough. I have lots of 4ah batteries as well if I need more run time.Overall, it seems like another good quality tool from Ryobi. Hopefully I can get 40 years out of it like some of my other Ryobi's.
