Daily Hood
I love this welding hood, the auto darkening makes it nice while working. I felt this was a good value for the money, the fit was great.

extremely sturdy, solid
The media could not be loaded. got this helmet to replace an old hobart. noticed immediately the lens was very clear and the filter was colored well. also noteworthy is that it wears comfortably on the head, the strap adjusts easily and it adjusts comfortably to the back of my head. when its on it feels like an extension of my skull which is great.other reviewers say its heavy. its definitely heavier than most hoods. not a problem unless you have a sissy girl neck and cant manage the weight. i wear it comfortably for around 75% of my 10 hour shifts 5 days a week.the sturdiness is where this helmet shines, and is why i picked it up. everyone at my work swears by jackson for their hoods. things are indestructible, most hoods i pick up usually feel flimsy and ive had hoods crack when i drop them. with this jackson, it feels like i could take a .50cal to the temple in it and be fine. if you want a real tank of a hood with a clear lens at a solid price, this cant be beat.excellent hood, very satisfied.

Solid hood for the money
I was issued this model hood at a previous job and used it day in and day out for 5 years with no issues. When I started a new job, I knew this was the hood I wanted. It’s a bit on the heavy side compared to my Optrel e680 but I adjusted to it. The “grind mode” is shade 4 which is what I use to torch cut with. The adjustments for sensitivity, shade and mode are simple and easy to use. The ratcheting headband is comfortable and seems of good quality. I haven’t dropped this one off a ladder yet, but if it’s anything like my old one, it will stand up to it.***1 year update*** I’ve dropped this hood off my bench, ladder, welder, and the forklift….like a timex she takes a licking and keeps on ticking. Ratcheting headgear still works as good as the day I got it. It’s not a fancy looking hood like the Optrels and Esabs, etc but it’s comfortable and works. My only complaint is on cold mornings when my breath condenses on the control pad part of the lens, the screen telling you what shade it’s set to will go blank. I push the button a half dozen times and it comes back to life. Batteries are still at full charge after 300-400 hours of hood down welding in the last year.

Good hood
I weld for liveing “in a shop” 30 yrs now. The lense works great and simple to operate but the star of this model is the headgear, smooth deployment up to down and more comfortable than anything else out there. My only pieve is that the inner and outer safety lenses are different sizes and a bit more trouble to swap out than they should but will likely get used to the new drill. Amazon price 100 bucks cheaper than weld supply store. Highly reccomend.

Nice view and good for low amp TIG
The lens and view is very nice, easy to see the weld pool even with low amperage TIG welding. No problems with blocking the sensors, or them not triggering shade at 10amp TIG arc. Easy to adjust the settings as well as fit and it's comfortable to wear. It does have holders for cheater lenses, 2x4.25 inches. It's a bit heavier than my inexpensive Hobart helmet but not bad at all. My only pick might be the detents for up/down position could crisper so it stays up and flips down better with quick nod of the head, but for the price I'm willing to put up with that minor pick. Very happy with it and would recommend it to anyone shopping in this price range without hesitation, much better than any of the others I have tried.

They don’t last forever
I hope this one last as long as the old one

A solidly built helmet
This auto darkening helmet appears to be a quality built product. It has four dimming sensors, the switching speed is 1/10,000. The helmet is robustly built, so its expected that it will last, however its a bit heavy but as you use it, your head will adjust to the weight. The filter assembly appears solid and well built and I think this is what may have added to the weight of the helmet. I have used it and I am satisfied with its performance. I purchased an Antra helmet about a year ago and it stopped working and I only used it occasionally so I was really disappointed with the Antra. Based on the overall construction of the Jackson helmet and the reviews I read, I expect to get good performance. Once you start using these auto darkening helmets you wouldn’t want to go back to the traditional ones, though its always good to keep one in reserve. One other observation with the Jackson helmet is the mode buttons for weld/grind is on the underside of the helmet making it slightly awkward to change quickly from weld to grind and vice verse.

Best Hood Money Can Buy!
Best Headgear! Good viewing lenses and very accurate. Jackson just gets it right! We don't need nothing fancy we need it to be comfortable and we need it to last, this unit will not fall apart like a miller. It's a very simple design. The viewing lenses are perfect size. The different shades are accurate. It's simple to use and affordable. I would 100% recommend this hood over anything else.
