Worth every penny. The glass is thick and won't shatter by just resting down gently like the last one I got from elsewhere long ago. I was hesitant due to that last experience from a previous company but I am glad I went forward with this one. Great vessel for making delicious and delicate meads and wines. Cleans well. Wouldn’t dishwasher this because You should always he thorough and hand clean fermentation jars. Pours easy, and handle is strong. Would not freeze, but fridge safe for cold racking. Size is lovely and feels true to description.

Arrived quickly and in great shape with all items enclosed. 1 gallon size will be perfect for my secondary of a 1.3 gallon primary.

Quick backstory - So, about 40+ years ago I made a lemon cider from an old family recipe, and used a popular brand gallon wine jug that was cleaned out. Worked great, and got pretty potent. I recently found the original hand-written recipe and thought I'd do it again. Same process - CR gallon jug, everything seemed great when I bottled it, and... BOOOOM! In less than 20 hours, the whole thing blew up. So, I got this jug, which has the funky apparatus on top to relive pressure. Came packaged very well. It's been about a week since I bottled my second batch, but it hasn't blown up, and when we tried a little sample last night, had a nice carbonation to it. So, seems to be working so far. Will update if necessary.

I have purchased at least 3 of my gallon carboys from north mountain supply and if I buy more it will be through these guys no one else. carboys are packaged well and arrive unbroken which is the most important thing. I like the design, elegant light weight and clean, not dusty. Airlocks seal well.

Excellent quality glass! I would give 5 stars but the Lid, Air Block and stopper were missing from the box, so I had to reorder and return the original. Hopefully they will get it right on the next shipment.

My fiancé got this to start up his home brewing process and has been impressed with it so far. The quality of the glass is nice and strong. Definitely durable. The product is easy to use and the lid gets nice suction with no leakage. It is fairly heavy when it is full, but that’s to be expected honestly. The quality of the product that comes out is also top tier. We highly recommend this product if you’re doing any home brewing.
