Two Thirds Canvas Apps, One Third Advanced Topics
"Learn Microsoft Power Apps" 2nd Edition by Matthew and Elisa is an incredibly detailed and comprehensive guide for anyone interested in learning about Microsoft Power Apps. With a total of 23 chapters, the book is predominantly focused on Canvas Apps, taking up about two-thirds of the content. What I found particularly effective were the chapter summaries and questions at the end of each chapter, which offer an excellent way to review and consolidate understanding. The answers at the back of the book are also a nice touch, allowing you to check your progress and grasp of the material. The initial 14 chapters provide a solid foundation on topics typically covered in a Power Apps (Canvas Apps) in a Day Course. The authors have incorporated labs throughout these chapters, enabling readers to apply their learning in a practical way. The process of building a groceries app progressively as the chapters advance is an engaging way to see the theoretical knowledge come to life.As the book progresses, it delves into more advanced topics such as Azure Runbooks, Power BI embedding, AI Builder and an introduction to Dataverse, dataflows and ALM. There's also a useful section on Model Driven Apps, starting from table creation to building an actual app.Towards the end, it provides a helpful administrative overview to understand environments and DLP. And the final chapter on good practices is where you really connect with the authors and their lessons learned.Overall, this book is a valuable resource for both beginners and those with some experience in Power Apps. The authors' expert knowledge and practical approach make learning an enjoyable experience. I would highly recommend "Learn Microsoft Power Apps" to anyone eager to delve into the world of Power Apps.

Build build and build some more
Over the past week I have had the great pleasure to dive into Learn Microsoft Power Apps - Second Edition from Packt and Sohini Ghosh so I wanted to share my thoughts. So I guess if you are just lifting the lid of Power Apps or a keen professional, or just someone dabbling then this book is something you won’t put down or if you do it will only to get going on the examples. You will get started step by step then build your knowledge with clear concepts and examples from connectors, GPS to using Power Automate and Azure I am so pleased with this book it’s a big hit.My advice get going on the growing trend around Power Platform and the App Development world grab a copy and get stuck in.

Great book for an evolving technology
This is a great book for developers across the skills spectrum who are looking to understand Power Apps at a foundational level. The content covers not just the types of apps themselves but delves into important topics about the underlying technologies critical to certain use cases (i.e., model-drive applications using Dataverse, etc).Occasionally the metaphors used by the authors were a little hard for me to grasp (I'm not someone who can immediately relate to science based examples and comparisons) but this is barely a negative.I look forward to subsequent volumes :-)
