An excellent refresher for engineering professionals
Leonard has covered the foundational math needed to get started with Quantum Computing )QC). This book is primarily for professionals who need a refresher on Linear Algebra required to understand the basics of physics of QCs. From the very first chapter in the first section, this book captivates one's attention as it covers vectors, linear combinations, and superpositions. The second chapter delves into matrices. The book's second section has three chapters on elementary linear algebra starting from sets, groups, and fields to linear transformation, operators, and Euclid-inspired transformations. The third section focuses on Complex numbers, eigenvalues and eigenvectors, orthonormality, and advanced concepts like Gram-Schmidt, Cauchy-Schwartz inequalities, singular and polar decomposition, and matrix exponentials. Most of the chapters have exercises and answers for practice. The appendices are also helpful in understanding advanced theories and concepts. This book packs a punch, although it is under 250 pages. I recommend this book to any and every professional needing to brush up on their foundational mathematics as they prepare to tread into quantum computing

A worthwhile purchase for my needs as a retired engineer seeking illumination on quantum everything!
Wow what a wonderful book with such relevant content! Much material from my younger engineering education and is a nice well organized volume for review of the old plus much new material needed for my understanding of the quantum computing process. As a retired engineer with much interest in computer science today, I have purchased about dozen quantum related books prior to getting this one which is proving to help solve my immediate hurdles with the needed math in the quantum computing path.

Really Important Book
https://www.amazon.com/dp/1801073147/I have been researching quantum curriculum for several years and hoping someone would write a book like this, to focus on the most relevant aspects of linear algebra in a friendly, accessible way. The diagrams are helpful and even if you get the black and white print version, also download the kindle version (you may be able to for free) in order to see the color diagrams. One of the huge problems in quantum is the talent gap but one of the things holding more people back is being intimidated by math. Partly for some this is because math is often taught without context - and many quantum courses have a high bar in math.So what’s a person to do? Read Leonard’s book.I especially liked how the first four chapters introduced topics and later chapters help you dig in.

a must read for people without math background but interested in quantum computing
I am interested in quantum computing for years but frustrated by the math. Finally found a book that enables me to learn essential mathematics for understanding quantum computing. Very grateful for the author to write this book.
