Great for adventurers
Very thorough guide for the cities and towns with an emphasis on the independent traveler. Very good for hikers and bikers. Lots of detailed maps.

Not the best book if going to Norway on a cruise ship
This guidebook is probably best for travelers to Norway who are not on a cruise ship. The tone of the book is disdainful of cruise ships and passengers, "whenever a cruise ship docks . . . at such times it's a chaotic, unappealing place brimful (sic) of jostling hoards". "Should you see a cruise ship. . .horror stories . . . once these monsters of the waves disgorge their masses." The information on the areas that cruise ships tend to use as port stops is not that helpful in terms of day trips or excursions. Probably better to use the internet to research the port stops or use another guide book with more specific information for cruisers.

Info could be outdated
Information in the guide could be outdated. Often there is a mention of 2016 or 2017 as a date for possible renovations to museums. A guide published after those years would not mention this at all.
