I recently purchased a John Deere hood on Amazon and I have to say that the seller who shipped it did an excellent job. The package arrived in just a few days, even earlier than the promised delivery date, and it was packed very securely. I would rate the seller’s service as a 5-star experience without hesitation.When I received the part, I was pleased to find that it was exactly as promised and identical to the original one that came with my tractor. The fit and finish of the hood was good and I would also give the part a 5-star rating for being an exact replacement.However, I do have some concerns regarding the original hood that needed replacement. The fact that it shattered so easily when I bumped into it just walking past my tractor is quite concerning. I can't help but wonder if the material engineers at John Deere actually use this part themselves, or if they're aware of how brittle it can be.In fact, it seems that this may be a common issue with this particular part, given the number of replacements that Amazon tracks as having been purchased. I think John Deere should look into using a more impact-resistant and durable plastic formulation for their tractor hoods to prevent shattering from minor impacts. It would also be helpful if they conducted more rigorous testing and quality control measures to ensure that these plastic components meet desired strength and durability standards before they're produced.Overall, I'm satisfied with my purchase and the service provided by the dealer, but I do have concerns about the quality of the original John Deere hood and think that improvements could be made to prevent similar issues in the future.

This is a perfect replacement for the broken hood on my John Deere X304. The replacement is fairly easy. While it could be done on the ground, I found it easier to do it on a workbench. Less stooping for this old guy. It is a pretty straightforward process and there is a YouTube video showing how to do it. This hood comes bare with no bolts so be sure to save the old ones. The color is perfect JD green and the finish is bright and polished. Looks like a new tractor. Only problem is I couldn’t save the X304 decals from the old hood and I’m having trouble finding new ones. I would recommend reinserting the bottom front cross piece that has John Deere on it before final tightening of the bolts in the front. I found that there needs to be a little expansion room in the hood sides to get this piece in.

Exact replacement for the original hood that broke. Delivery was quick. Only gripe was there was no instructions on how to install. Spent unnecessarily effort getting the grill to fit until I found a video on YouTube showing how to replace the interior parts. A one page direction sheet would have been most helpful.

The hood on my 21 year old John Deere X304 was cracked into 3 pieces when a painter's ladder fell on it. New hood arrived promptly and undamaged in spite of a large dent/hole in the box. My ten year old grandson took less than 20 minutes to removed the residual hood pieces and install the new one (with a little adult advice on lining it up correctly before inserting screws). Looks perfect. Just need to order the correct model decals for the sides. The ones I received were for the X300, not X304.

Just wanted to advise -- part fits my 2011 X500 perfectly. All bolt holes lined up and part appears to be about the same quality as the original OEM. It works.

Destroyed my last hood running into things. This hood was a perfect fit and color, but I would recommend also buying the grill guard if you work in tight areas.

My old hood broke into about 20 pieces when the wind caught it while open. I looked a bit of a fool mowing with no hood. I thought about the knock offs and then saw some of the reviews. I am glad I got this one. Well made and very nice. I hope they have improved the UV or age issue.
