Disney and Pixar's Soul DVD [2021]

An instant Disney classic
A "must see" movie that should go well across the generations - one previous reviewer asked "Why this was Soul released on DVD when it was released on the Disney+ channel"? Surely this super movie should be available to ALL, as not everybody has access to this TV channel set up? We simply do not all have these channels to go to. Pixar should be applauded for this totally entertaining film into a time when we all should be helped to feel good. After all the suffering that this awful pandemic has brought on we all need as much cheer as we can find - our DVD copy has been much appreciated. Just the thought of the cat is enough to make me smile again!!!

A great family movie.
Bought for the whole family to watch on a movie night for my daughter’s birthday. The combination of music mixed with the spiritual was a hit across the generations.

Mostly meh, but with some good moments
This film just didn't click for me. The animation was good, the voices and music were top notch and the visual design was imaginative but... I just didn't find the characters relatable in the slightest. It's like they took a as many cliches as possible and tried to write a single script for all of them.It didn't help that the lead character was a middle aged African American living in the inner city, who didn't experience any of the relatable challenges that the intended audience might face in their lives. He seemed out of place for this kind of movie. On that note, the way that the script just heaped unfortunate contrivance after unfortunate contrivance on him just seemed vindictive after a while. Rather than making me feel sorry for him it just made me feel frustrated at the writers for not giving him a more realistic chalange to overcome.Over all, It's not a bad movie, its just not as happy go lucky or as emotionally stiring as their previous movies. It's no Up, or Inside Out. Which is what I was expecting it to be.
