Not profound, but a worthy addition.
Better than average samurai experience with depthand more heart than most. Not close to the “The Hero”, “The Assassin”, “A Bittersweet Life”, “Oldboy”...you get the picture. Not profound, but worthy for martial art fans.

I have read many reviews on this great movie and all that needs to be said is this is a movie, not a documentary but the more Korean cinema and dramas I watch the more I want to know about Korean past history. I don't care if the blood doesn't splatter and spurt as strongly as some want...the art of sword combat is not the entirety of this beautiful work. Everyone who watches should thank the makers for being excellent enough to forgo shaky-cam work. I am 74, female, live in the south of USA and not since Bruce Lee have I been as impressed as I have been with Jang Hyuk. He is the reason I watch almost exclusively Korean cinema/TV and has been since I saw Chuno and Fated to Love You on Netflix. Jang Hyuk, g o d, Ailee and Lee Hyuk all make me laugh longer and cry harder than any other group of entertainers. My most heartfelt thanks and appreciation for Korean entertainment

Exceptional Movie!
This is a great movie. I can't remember the last time I've been so engaged, and on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happens next. Story is well crafted and doesn't disappoint in the end like so many movies do these days. I watched it in the original language with english subtitles, and it was well worth it.

Excellent movie, DVD played well.
Awesome action film, great story with historic influences and great characters.The main character is played by Jan Hyuk, I haven't seen any of his other movies, but his performance makes me want to see his other films.The main villain is played by Joe Taslim, he played Sub Zero in the latest Mortal Kombat movie, he also co-stars in the Warrior TV series, and he was in the Raid as well as other films, he kicks ass.Great movie, check it out.
