Q: Will it protect from Catfish stings?

I've used these with catfish and have had no problems. As long as you don't literally rip out its stinger and jab it into your hand, than yes, it protects your hands very well. So, the simple answer is YES, it will :)

Q: do these gloves have a tackiness on the inner palm area of glove? my others did and eventually got too sticky so it was a pain to unstick

I know exactly what you mean. I say no tackiness in the ones I have and they seem better than any other set of gloves I've had.

Q: Would these be good for skinning store-bought salmon filets? I've read of another "fillet glove" but those don't come in my husband's XL size

I think so. Pretty true to size and I feel that the grip is good and they clean up well.

Q: Can you cast with these gloves on?

I went wade fishing, and had them on the entire time. Reels like bait casters where you need to finesse the spool with your thumb might be a little tricky because the palm side has a little bit of a grip and could be difficult trying to finesse the line to slow and stop where you want it to. I used a bait caster, and had no problems, but I am usually not picky on where the bait lands, as long as it gets far, and the line doesn't tangle, it's all good in my book.
