Love this bumper guard - keeps my 120 pound dog from scratching the bumper when he jumps in and out of the back.Very simple to install:1. REMOVE THE WHITE PLASTIC PROTECTION FILM!!!2. Mark the exact center of the guard with masking tape to align it with the center of the trunk.3. The mounting tape underneath the guard goes the whole length of the top and bottom - but there are only 5 places where it goes across the width. Mark those spots with masking tape. In addition to the top and bottom, this is where you will have to apply pressure to make the guard stick to the bumper!4. To make the mounting tape really stick permanently to the bumper you have to thoroughly clean the bumper - the little bitty cleaning patch that comes with it is not sufficient!I used “GOO GONE” spray I had in the garage, then followed up with rubbing alcohol. Let it dry thoroughly.5. Push the top of the bumper guard lip onto the bumper under the black rubber insulation, then push it down. Make sure the front is flush against the bumper. TRY THIS PROCESS A COUPLE OF TIMES BEFORE YOU REMOVE THE COVERING FROM THE STICKY MOUNTING TAPE!6. Press down hard along the whole top and bottom edge, as well as the spots marked where the tape goes across the width of the bumper. I repeated this process several times minutes apart. The bumper guard fits perfectly and is tight against the bumper - no loose ends.

After reading the mixed reviews on this item I decided to go for it anyway. From what I read and from what I learned are 2 different things.1. Shipping was solid and no damage to item. It had a piece of wood inside the bubble wrap (then taped), so the item would not bend in shipping.2. Item is indeed chrome. (Not white). The white is a protective film that needs to be peeled off.3. Read other reviews to make sure it is centered on first try. I first "dry-fit" the bumper guard, measured and marked with painters tape. Went in great on the first try. Do start with angling it in... I started with a 15 degree angle to get the front facing section under the rubber seal. Once in right I layed it down flat (gently) to make sure it's in the proper position. Once happy, I just pushed down to make sure the tape was adhered fully.I posted 3 pics, before, middle and after.This is day 1, so I cannot speak to the longevity of the item, but it feels solid and looks OEM (like my previous ML).

Purchase items since Mercedes Benz do not have it available as an option for the 2019 GLC. Price was excellent, the item came in a box very well protected to avoid any dents during shipping.Easy installation; 1) find center of item and center of car back door opening and mark with painter's tape, 2) position item utilizing the center marks (item and car back door opening), place painter's tape at left and right edge of item, 3) peel cover of double tape from the underside of the item, 4) position item with slight upward angle so the inside edge of item is in the correct location then lower outside of item into bumper, 5) press item into bumper at all locations to insure double tape is properly adhere to bumper and you are finished. Note: Remove wax with a wax remover you can purchase at Amazon or any auto parts store from bumper between the left and right side of the location where item will be located.Item has been installed in the car for a couple of month in Miami, Fl. with no issue of item lifting from bumper.This item is well made of stainless steel and will definitely protect your bumper.

After someone backed into me and bent the original, I purchased this to replace it which from Mercedes directly was over $300, and quite frankly this one is made better and the material more solid for a fraction of the price. Great product and easy to install!

It covered deep scratches on my 2018 GLC300 an stops more from coming back. Fit perfect and super easy to install.

DO NOT BUY! This is an update for my first review. Since writing this I tried to remove it due to how bad it looked after use - scratches, raw metal showing - it looked awful. 1) Note that this plate is nearly impossible to remove without leaving behind bad scratches on the original paint. 2) When you pull it up to get it off, you actually are bending the the plastic bumper up which can cause the tailgate to not close cleanly. I've since bought a rubber type cover and it doesn't scratch. That means I won't have to remove it any time soon. (Original review>) This plate is easy to install. Warning to carefully measure your center point. Once it's down, there's no moving it. My main gripe is that any type of scrape - and this area just gets them - scratches the paint off of the plate down to the metal. The result looks really bad on a nice car in a prominent area. There's also no easy way to get this off. Maybe heat it? Not sure. A better material would have been some type of rubber. Even black would have accented the trim and not scratched like this does. Wouldn't buy it again for sure.

looks good too but when the sun's out and reflects since it's chrome what is good if you do like Uber and Lyft that helps protect your cars rear bumper from scratches when loading luggage in and out from the airport when you pick up riders
