Stunning piece
Looks great flying near my pond it's now starting to rust given it little something extra it moves if you slightly push it but doesn't turn in breeze but saying that I do have a large spooky salix tree so it's sheltered a bit from strong wind , it's doesn't bother me about the movement but as it's lovely piece of artwork stunning craftsmanship arrived very quickly and well packed

Excellent spitfie, good size, but !
I am really happy with the spitfire, which is sturdy and well detailed. However, it is to be used as a centre piece in our village alpine garden and I did not take into account how it is resting in the cup, so unfortunately would soon go missing, or large birds can easily knock it over.So some modification will be made to the stem, and when finished will slot into a centre hole of a concrete pedestal. Our village was the RAF WWII airbase for the Polish 303 Spitfire Squadron.Although it will not spin in the wind, 2 circles will have the squadron details written on them, so nothing lost and will look really good.

it doesn't rotate
I am really disappointed with this. I bought a similar one from the National Trust and it spins with a very small amount of wind. I have put this in 4 different areas of my garden (which is 140ft long so a reasonable size) to see if one area has more wind in than another but still nothing. Today I have suspended it on top of my wooden pergola so it is not possible to stop the wind reaching it in anyway by trees or bushes. My husband has filed the base of the pole that goes into the cup - this was completely squared off - he did this to try to minimise the friction to hope it would spin! The design is obviously completely wrong the spitfire needs to be moved closer to one end so it would act as a paddle for the wind to spin it and the balls at the ends could balance it by giving them different weights.I am so disappointed as I think it is a lovely idea but it just doesn't work!
