I’ve had another cheaper brand of paper cutter for years. I had to push down hard on the cutter in order to even cut one piece of paper and even then, the cut was rarely precise. My new Carl paper cutter cuts paper with a gentle push of the bland. I just cut 5 pieces of sulphite paper in one swipe like a breeze. I make handmade books so a paper cutter is essential. This came highly recommended by other book makers and now I will number their ranks as a huge fan!

I am cutting velvet with sticky back and paper. It cuts cleanly.

Editing my review to two stars. I regret not returning this. The measurements seem to be slightly off but my biggest complaint is that the cutting bar is not cutting at a 90 degree straight edge. I thought I could make up for it myself by slightly angling the paper but it's just a pain. You can look at it once sliding a piece of paper in and see the whole cutting arm is not vertically straight.I have been trying to replace my very old Fiskars rotary cutter because they discontinued the cutting bar. I landed on this one despite trying to find one where the arm would come up. The 4 stars is because it does not cut perfectly straight. It’s slightly off. Very frustrating but I’m keeping because I’m out of options. I can slightly tilt the paper to account for the difference. Otherwise it cuts great. I can fit five sheets of 80lb cover stock at once if I press hard enough. Four is probably the max to get it to cut through at once.

This cutter works great and even cuts tabloid size paper with ease. The cuts are accurate and straight. It's easy to store savage because of how flat it is.

My old cheap cutter was less than accurate, with an obsolete blade.Wow, I'm impressed with this cutter. Maybe my smartest purchase of the year. Invaluable to me.

I’ve used roller cutters for decades now and they are so much better than your traditional chop cutters. This one is a very small, lightweight light duty cutter that does the job. And if you plan on doing this professionally or have a large amount of work to do, then I would strongly suggest going to a more robust, heavier duty cutter. But for occasional use, this works great!

First of all, the item was sent only in its product box and arrived in rough condition. The product packaging does not appear to be sturdy enough to be used without an outer box. Even if I had received a new item, I feel like there would be a chance for it to arrive damaged.As seen in the picture, the cutting wheel and one of the screws is missing. The trimmer arrived with the other screw properly tightened meaning the cutting wheel did not fall off during shipping. Additionally, the cutting mat has obvious signs of being used before.I also included a photo of the manual that states that the cutting capacity is actually 10 sheets instead of the product page's stated 15. That is significantly less than advertised.This is all very frustrating as I paid for a NEW product and instead received a used one that they didn't even bother to check if it was all there. I was already on a time crunch and now have to deal with returning this and finding a better product from a different manufacturer.

I returned this cutter. It was too difficult to get an exact cut where I wanted. As a teacher, I use paper cutters/slicers on a daily basis. This one was extremely frustrating and cost me a lot of time and paperwork trying to figure out how to get the cut to line up. I ended up returning it and fixing my old paper slicer.
