Pacific Drums by DW Mini Timbale, Chrome Plated Steel, 4X8

Excellent addition to drum kit, sounds great, nice tonal accent. Good bang for the buck!

I have a Yamaha kit with an 8" tom as my highest tom. I wanted to find something like a 6" tom that would go higher.Well, finding a 6" tom seem impossible. I get the physical reasons why.Then I found these Pacific Drums 8" Timbale toms without a bottom head. My first thought was to buy the 8" and 10" version of these and see how they sound. I received them, tuned them, and they sounded great.Next I wanted to mount both of these at the high end of my drum kit toms. The 10" tom was a problem with space. So I immediately orderd another 8" tom. It was perfect. Both 8" toms fit in my limited space above my hi-hat. I tuned them differently, and the whole kit sounds great top to bottom. I don't currently use the 10" tom, but I kept it for my percussion setup.Love these, very well made!

Old guys rule- got tired of hauling my Yamaha Stage Custom 5 piece kit around. They’re great drums- heavier w/ extra hardware.Retired, and didn’t want to spend for a costly Yamaha or Sonor bop kit. Downgraded to an older Crush 18” tom w/ Pearl’s jungle bass drum conversion kit, Iron Cobra aluminum longboard bass pedal; also have a Pearl Eliminator Double Bass pedal as needed. Pearl 10” Short fuse snare, this PDP mini tom with its L-rod (included) mount clamped to a PDP two legged hi hat stand. Finished with a Gibraltar light weight cymbal stand with an extra Tama clamp, Pearl tom mount and older Pearl Export 12” open bottom tom tuned down as my four piece kit for small-medium venues.Can adjust cymbal volume with either Istanbuls for standards/pop music sets, or Meinl HCS cymbals for heavy rock. Use tala wands, brushes, or varied drum sticks depending on the gig. Ambient mics will help with sound projection. It’s not what brand of equipment you play, but how you play it.Even E Van Halen started out with his DIY equipment and Frankenstrat guitar. Folks laughed at him- until they heard his music.

I happen to play with a reggae artist quite often, and this timbale truly gives off the exact sound we’re aiming for.Would definitely recommend!

One of the lugs detunes completely within seconds of playing. Completely unacceptable for what I paid. I can get lug locks for it and probably be okay otherwise.

I use it in my cajon set up ad I absolutely love the tone i can get out of this drum
