This is the ONLY flea killer that kills Kansas University Strain
I've NEVER had a flea infestation, not even when we lived in South Florida. We live in WV, where normal flea measures work...until a couple of years ago.We have 2 German Shepards and 4 cats. The cats are strictly indoor cats. I found that if you treat your home once a year with an 8 month whole house fogger, for fleas, in March or April, you don't get fleas in the house. I treated my German shepherds with a monthly spot treatment containing fipronil, because they go outside. I don't treat the cats.HOWEVER, 4 years ago, I got a flea infestation, and I mean a TRUE infestation. I found them on my legs, even under the sheets in my bed.I had done my yearly fogging. I fogged again 3x (yes, a total of 4 times). I treated every animal. I vacuumed daily (we have no carpet, only hardwood throughout all the house, on all stories).I used my bissel Crosswave floor cleaner, which I do weekly anyway. I tried Seven Dust, diatomaceous Earth, I sprayed the yard, I even brought yard spray into the basement (where no animal goes, yet had fleas) and I used the poison twice.I used every type of spot on treatment on the dogs (and cats). No formula killed these fleas. I used powders, gave baths. I spent hundreds trying to get rod of the fleas.Nothing got rid of the fleas, which were a nightmare. I finally had to real online research. I found that Kansas University found a variety of fleas over 20 years ago, that weren't being killed by the current flea treatments. Neither the environmental treatments known to kill fleas, like pyrethrins, nor the (what is common now) spot on treatments, like Frontline plus, advantix, and others will kill these fleas.2 insecticides will kill these fleas and larvae. Spinetoram and dinotefuran. Cheristin for cats hasSpineoram. Vectra has Dinotefuran. Dinotefuran is ONLY SAFE FOR DOGS. DO NOT USE ON CATS!I also bought Dinotefuran made by Alpine, from Amazon, to spray the house.Within hours, the infestation came under control. Of course, I again, for the umpteenth time, stripped everything, washed everything, and vacuumed. I vacuumed all 3 stories of the house, PLUS the basement, daily for the first week, then every other day. For a couple of weeks, to get any fleas that hatched. I sprayed the Alpine flea spray every week for a month.I've never had a single flea on the dogs since using the Vectra. I've not had to treat the house at all since this infestation, and I don't treat the cats.I really spent hundreds trying to rid the infestation. Vectra is a lot more expensive than other spot-on treatments, but in the long run, people and animals are healthy. Plus, I've not spent money on treating the house yearly, so the expense washes out.Eventually, the active ingredients will become generic just like Frontline and others. The Cheristin was VERY expensive when I bought it 4 years ago for the cats, but it only required 1 treatment. I still have a partial can of Alpine that I never finished.Spend the extra money and get Vectra. You won't realize you have this KU strain of fleas until too late and you have an infestation.Trust me. It's much better to be safe than sorry.

Used for Years! VET APPROVED
I have used this brand for years and the Quality is amazing. It is easy to apply. And it is worth the money and is cheaper than what you get from the vet.My Lab has never had any side effects from this flea control. Even when he has gotten fleas we can put this one and it is so effective we get things back under control in no time. When I discussed what flea treatment I use with my VET he said that this is the best to use if your not getting your flea control from the vet.

Recommended by our Holistic Vet - and it works well
We tried shampoos, and other non-evasive products, but none worked, and then the skin problems associated with the fleas started to kick in. We did not want to go in the direction that our traditional vet wanted to go, so I researched holistic vets, and on their website we got their recommendation for this 3D product. It worked amazingly well in two applications and certain there were no more fleas at the time of putting on the fourth application. Now we just have to tackle the skin inflammation which is a byproduct of the fleas. Wish I would have known about this product sooner. Highly recommend. But note that your pouch may still be biting and itching and its not fleas, but the inflammation that develops after the fleas. So we are now using "Veterinary Formula Clinical Care Antiseptic & Antifungal Shampoo" which as of this writing is not sold on Amazon, but on a pouch specialty website. That is working exceptionally well too.

Wonderful Flea Pheromone
I had to give this a one star review because it was listed as Flea repellant.I thought I was buying flea repellent but we were sold flea pheromones. This flea Pheromone liquid works wonders on our dogs! Within a week we had twice the amount of fleas that we had on them before! This was amazing! Now instead of vacuuming the house two to three times a day to keep the fleas down we vacuum once a day and just vacuum the dogs two to three times a day. I am sure as well as this flea pheromone works we will even rid the neighbors dogs of their fleas! This product though is difficult to use with as much as we have to vacuum the dogs. I will say I am sure the fleas love their new home at the Dump, where they will be elated to find the many many still full packages of unused Vectra 3D that people just didnt know how to use correctly.

Works better than most
This is one of the newer derivatives of flea meds. Always trying to stay ahead of flea resistance to the older formula meds. Also, my big male Siberian is sensitive to many of the topical flea meds - some make him itch all over for days (especially k-9 advantage). He tolerates this one well.Free Note: if you have Siberians that itch all the time but don't have fleas, they are probably allergic to grains - I have been breeding and raising them for years and about 75% of them are allergic to any food with grains. I guess they didn't feed on a lot of grains in frozen Siberia so they haven't had time to gentically adapt to our high grain western diet in the short 100 or so years since they were bdiscovered and rought over here. The price on Amazon for this medicine was about the same as other online sources.

BEST TICK PREVENTION FOR HEAVILY WOODED AREAS - MUST HAVE FOR DOG OWNERS
I was turned onto this product by my neighbor - we live in a heavily wooded area and have ticks on our dogs every day. We used to apply frontline plus, but we were still finding ticks daily. Our neighbor's dog never has ticks, but we walk on the same trails. Since switching the Vectra 3D, in the two years we've been using, we have only found three ticks - and they weren't embedded - they were on the fur clearly visible - all found while walking in the woods on our trails. I swear by this product and any dog owner who regularly encounters ticks NEEDS to have. It's a game changer!! This is not a paid review - I buy this product myself and it's that good, I had to rave about it on here. I wish I would've found out about it sooner.
