Awesome
i don't do a lot of reviews but since this can help the kids i will do one, my little boy got out the back window a few days ago think god i have a full 6 foot fence but with in 5 minutes i noticed him and now im into safety mode,i was thinking bars for my windows would cost 100 or more per window for something good ,i was wrong i got these and this is so strong ,was packaged good and shipped fast ,i have a alarm system and a camera system and don't live in the best neighborhood but in the summer i like to keep a window open or 2 and its a pain to by pass the alarm so i leave it off at night, so i installed this bar on the outside of my window it fit perfect in the frame holes are great but i re drilled 2 so i could angel 4 inch screws into the studs . took me about 20 minutes total and they thing is soild as a rock .. i all ready feel safer with my window open i can still put my fan in it and i do not at all have to worry about my boy getting out the house or anyone crawling in at night no more.. ok now if there is a fire i will not be able to get out this window , so i have 7 windows down stairs im going to put these on the 3 that would most likely be broken into and let me alarm cover the rest . if u have a window your scared to leave open or a window the kids mess with get this it will give you 100 percent piece of mind, them safety latches are nice but i know my kid could open them within 15 minutes ,he will not be able to open this and i can sleep with fresh air at night again this is a 6 star product !!!!

Anxiety relief = priceless
This thing was a little hard to install, but I blame that more on our weird, annoying window than the product itself. Our 2nd story bedroom has a window that is for some reason very close to the ground. It opens outward on a vertical axis using a hand crank, and has a lock that flips up and down like a light switch. So the challenge was to figure out how to install the guard in such a way that the hand crank and window lock can still operate unimpeded by the guard bars, without leaving a big gap underneath the bars, which would negate the entire purpose. It took a couple tries and the bar spacing made it tricky, but we eventually figured out a setup that, while perhaps not the ideal configuration, is the only one that works for our weird window. And all that really matters is if it does the job of improving safety for our toddler, which it does.As other commenters have suggested, we used our own screws instead of the provided “permanent” ones so that it can be uninstalled someday. It’s still very secure.Overall I’m happy with this purchase. The peace of mind it brings is well worth any frustration during installation.

Solid, affordable extra layer to my home security setup
My house is set up in such a way that all of the windows are easily visible to both of my neighbors and to passers-by on the street, so that anyone who tries breaking into my home when I'm not around will be readily seen. All, that is, except for one particular bedroom window I have near the back of the house, which is blocked from neighbor/street view by a storage shed, and is at ground level (one-story home). I saw this as a glaring weak point in my home's security, and this window guard was EXACTLY what I needed to fix it.I had this thing in place and mounted in less than 10 minutes total. The screws that are included with this are one-way screws of questionable strength and quality, and I didn't want to chance running one halfway in and then having it get stuck or snap off and having no way to back it out, so I used my own. Just stuck the assembly up in place, pre-drilled holes in the window frame, and then ran some heavy-duty 3-inch screws into the studs (Camo brand screws, which are VERY strong and use Torx bit heads). DONE!This guard is VERY secure and will certainly deter most any smash-and-grab punk that tries to target my home for stealing stuff to sell for drug money. No home security is theft-proof, but as of right now, the only way someone is getting into my place easily is if they decide to tunnel underneath and cut a hole in the floor to get inside, or they just use a chainsaw to cut a hole in the back wall. LOL

Great product.
Used it on my back door, screen door. Everyone kept using their butt to hold open door and pushed screen in. This adjusted to the screen opening and works great. Well made, heavy duty.

Perfect for baby protection
The safety bar set was exactly as described by the ad & fit perfectly in the window . Baby holds and shakes it but it does not give. 5 ⭐️

Buy your own screws
I ordered two of them for my uspstair windows for the safety of my kids. These window guards are heavy, and seems to be a good quality product. But One of them came with damaged box, the missing screws, And looks used. Both of them has scratch on them. But one thing that drives me crazy is the screws, I have never seen this kind of screws before, I do not think that there is any kinds of tools can work with it. I have to run to Home Depot to buy my own screws. Finally, get them installed, it looks ok. So, I decided to keep them.

Peace of mind
Love these. I live on the second floor of an apartment building that is an old renovated mill, with super high ceilings, so the second floor windows are 20+ feet from the ground. My dogs are just tall enough to look out the windows when they stand on their back legs, and I never left the windows open when I left for fear they'd jump straight through the screens. Now I can open my windows without fear of an accident and the peace of mind is absolutely worth the $50 I spent on two for two windows.Do take note of the measurements! They are not as "tall" as you might expect so you might not get the coverage you're looking for - know what you are ordering! And as other reviewers have mentioned, the screws that come with the window guard have a weird head that is neither Phillips nor flat - I just used different screws with no trouble at all.
