As described, works perfectly
Most negative reviews are "because of the knobs have wrong fitting ".While this is true, the caps/knobs fit snuggly and have no issues/skipping steps/ while turning. No issues while pressing either. So objectively speaking, no reason for the negative reviews - you can clearly see the type of fitting on the pictures before you buy.To sum up my review:Cheap product but still good quality.Product is as advertised. Comes with knobs, washers and nuts to secure.Works as expected when wired up correctly.I do recommend to buy them if you need rotaty encoders with a pushbutton functionality.

Great for use with an Arduino
Simplifies the ability to interface with an Arduino and they work a treat. I much prefer these with the switch attached to a mini PCB as it makes wiring and mounting much easier as far as I am concerned.

Wrong fitting knobs
As mentioned by another reviewer these are supplied with knobs that have a splined fitting and not D fittings like the encoders. They will fit but you need to apply a lot of pressure. Shame the knobs have an index mark on them too seeing as they rotate without stops so rather unnecessary.

Great
very good price compared to some of the others online. You could get it cheaper if you were willing to wait for delivery from China but if you want them fast then these are good. Very surprised that the encoders with the breakout boards were actually cheaper then buying the stand alone ones (I needed standalone so I just de soldered them off the breakout boards). The little knobs you get with them are plastic with an aluminium style look but do just fine.

Very good
I assumed all cheap encoders originated in the same factory, but these are far superior to the ones I've got as part of starter kits.Recommended.

Wrong type of knobs included
You would think that if you buy encoders and knobs as a set that the knobs would actually be suitable for the encoders - but no! I wish that I had read the reviews more closely before buying as the problem is already mentioned. The rotary encoders have 6mm "D" shafts but the supplied knobs are for 6mm spline shafts! Only realised this after I had fitted some encoders so now have had to order correct knobs.

Successfully used with RPi
To get reliable operation I found it necessary to solder 100nf capacitors to pins A, B & switch to ground and delay/debounce for 250ms in software.

Fittings incompatible.
Fittings between cap and device are completly different. One is star-shaped and the other is a semi circle.
