Works great for me
Although I'm REALLY good at buying on ebay, I've just started selling. Our local post office is horrible and every time I go in there's an issue. One week they only ship first class, the next they've never heard of first class. The price I was quoted last week was a one minute only offer....all sorts of silliness. Since I bought this scale I write the weight on each box I'm shipping. I go in, ask them for the weight only (it matches so I'm feeling really positive about the accuracy) and then whip out a printed copy of the shipping services and rates for that weight that I had printed out from usps.com that morning. My shipping costs have dropped dramatically since I've started using this scale because they can't pull any of their old stunts. The scale arrived quickly, was easy to set up and even came with the required batteries. It takes us very little room as far as storage and has been accurate so far. The envelope support in the back is a nice touch. It will put itself to sleep if you aren't continuously using it but it comes right back on. I don't know about 100's of items a day but for maybe 50 a month it works great.

A great product
I am really happy with this purchase. Super fast shipping and this is an excellent product. I just received this and it works great. Every thing seems to be very accurate and super easy to use. It is very compact and lightweight so I can take it out and put it away very easily, and it doesnt take up much space. I also don't have to run back and forth to the post office just to weigh something now. The price is a real bargain for a product like this. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone.

incorrectly described as weighing in grams
Got this to replace my 10-yr old Royal that was starting to give odd readings (and does not have a replaceable battery). I never use grams for measuring, but I had noticed it was described BY AMAZON as offering that option. It does not. It has only an off/on switch, and the instruction booklet says it weighs in lbs and oz. I like the fact that it uses a 9v replaceable battery...which should last longer than those with AA or AAA batteries. Plus, if I had to, I could plug it in. very lightweight (feels cheap) but is quite accurate. A bit bulkier than the old Royal (which I loved until it started acting wacky this week) but easy to grab and put on the desktop when you need to weigh a small package or envelope. The flip-up lid is interesting..allows you to rest a large oversized envelope on it for weighing. Overall, seems like a good bang for the buck. Now if Amazon would stop misrepresenting its capabilities, that would give this 5 stars....

Did not work!
Seeing all the wonderful reviews I was looking forward to receiving my scale... but it didn't work! I kept getting an error despite trying both the battery and AC adapter. Nowhere in the manual did it mention what "ErrE" meant. I'm sure it would have been a great product if it worked as it is quite lightweight and simple to use.

It works
Initially, I was looking to replace a digital scale from My Weigh that accommodated up to 15lbs and was a bit pricey at $40 without an AC Adapter. In looking at the various scales that were Prime eligible, I ran across the 35 lb version of the Weighmax, but on delivery the LCD was faulty and I had to return it. Then I found this 15lb version and it included an AC adapter and a 9 volt battery. It only has one read out in lbs & ounces and no tare button. The taring function is gotten around by putting whatever object you are going to place the item in and then turning on the scale. That amounts to a tare option. It works well enough for my purposes and now the question is the unit's durability that can only be determined over time. The lifetime warranty is better than nothing, but really somewhat worthless because you have to send the scale back at your expense and if it is past one year you then have to pay to get it fixed. At that point, you might as well as buy a new one because these basically throwaway electronics just aren't worth repairing. The unit is small enough, compact, and stable enough on a level surface (such as a ceramic tile). Hopefully it will last many years.

CHEAP, GLITCHY, AND INCONSISTENT
The scale arrived in a plain no-frills cardboard box bearing the brand name and model number and a listing of the unit’s key features. Inside the box was the scale, a nine-volt battery, and an AC adapter resting face down on the scale, the metal pins directly against it, no cardboard or Styrofoam barrier between them. The first thing I noticed when I unboxed the scale was that there were two scratches above the WeighMax logo, no doubt from the adapter’s pins. I also noticed that the scale’s thin plastic platform was bowed. As I rested the scale on the table, one of the rubber feet came off. The adhesive layer was relatively sticky, so I was able to stick it back. I wondered if the other feet were also quick to become detached, so I touched another foot, and off it came with the slightest ease. That was enough foot play for me, so I proceeded to test the scale. According to the instruction card, the scale turns off automatically after ninety seconds of inactivity. That proved to be true. I weighed a DVD; the scale showed a reading of 3.2 oz. I weigh it again and it showed 3.0 oz. A third time showed 3.4 oz. I then moved on to weighing an envelope. After weighing the envelope and removing it, the unit defaulted to 0.4 oz. Turning the power off and on remedied this anomaly, making the reading go back to 0.0, but each time I weighed the envelope, the scale defaulted to 0.4 oz. If one has many envelopes to weigh, the power button will surely get a good workout. Sheesh. There was better consistency when I weighed heavier items like books. But that was small comfort. I returned the scale.

Good but......
This scale is very accurate - do not like the fact that it turns itself off after so many seconds so that you have to turn it off/on to get it to work again.
