Pennington 100086831 Smart Seed Tall Fescue Blend, 7-Pound

Worked great for me. I put down a thin layer of soil after seeding, kept it wet and got almost 100% germination. Tried same technique with a couple of major brands and didn't work nearly as well. Those had more clover and dandelion in them than any grass. Used this to overseed the patches that didn't grow and now I've got a nice thick lawn. Highly recommend.FYI, if you don't keep the seeds moist once they start to germinate, they will die. You need to do short waterings several times a day for good results, or you need like a week of rain. Any seed will fail without doing this.

I did rake the lawn to remove thatch and loosen the soil, sprinkled the seeds, sprinklers watered the lawn every day. There were more birds than usual though, so not sure what actually happened. End result is no new grass.

As advertised, the seed did grow well in 2 weeks (refer to attached pictures). High quality grass seed I believe and recommended to others who looking for some high quality seed in the market. Good product.

Surprisingly less germination than I was expecting. I'll give it a try again in the Spring. But I expected to see more seedlings this Fall than I did.

Haven’t had this down long enough (only 10 days) to rate all aspects of it, but it has begun to sprout and I haven’t had to do much watering. So far, I am pleased.

Very low germination rate, 2nd attempt was just as bad. Grass that did germinate very thin, not what you would expect from tall fescue. Cannot recommend this product.

Did not work for me and I prepared everything, tilled, raked, watered and nothing.

Nice grass. Helps reduce erosion.
