Borolux Deep Dish Pie Plate, Shatter-Resistant Borosilicate Glass Bakeware, 9.5 Inch

I thoroughly enjoy entertaining, baking and cooking and I like to use high quality products in the kitchen. I was very pleased with this pie dish. In particular, I liked the size of the dish - deep dish and 9.5 inches, which is a little larger than a standard pie dish. If I am going to make a pie, I want to make a large one to serve to guests. This pie dish was large enough for me to serve generous slices to my guests. I also like the wide lip at the top of the dish - plenty wide enough to grasp while wearing oven mitts. I liked the fact that the pie dish was glass so I could look at the bottom and sides of the crust while it was baking to make sure that it was adequately browned. There are many glass pie dishes that allow you to see the crust, but I was particularly impressed by the fact that this was a shatter-proof glass. This allows me to bake a pie at a high initial temperature to get good browning without worrying about the glass exploding. Finally, the seller, Bemazed Brands, included detailed instructions for the care and cleaning of the pie dish and also sent a follow-up email with more details about the product.This Borolux Glass Pie Dish was well-made and the perfect size for a large pie. My wife and I recently dropped our pie dish when leaving a friend's house, so we began searching for a replacement. We knew we wanted glass because of the way it allows heat to build slowly and spread evenly, allowing for even baking and browning. We also prefer glass because it allows us to see the crust browning through the bottom of the pan. We wanted a plate with a nice decorative rim to allow us to more easily flute the edges. We also wanted something in the 9 inch range (plates much larger the 9 inches tended to give us sloppy pies). Lastly, we wanted a pie plate that was made of high quality glass. As we read about different plates we kept coming across a number of plates made of soda-lime glass, which are often less expensive, but can often shatter.We bought this plate a number of weeks ago and have been really please. It is a sturdy, industrial weight, glass pie plate. It has the decorative rim we were looking for. Also, because it's made of borosilicate glass it's both shatter-proof and able to handle much higher baking temperatures. We have baked a number of pies in it and have been very pleased. This plate is also at a great price point, when comparing its price to others plates of similar quality.We highly recommend.

Great product - I put it to work right away! I baked my very first pumpkin pie, using fresh pumpkin and this pie plate. It turned out perfect, almost 2 inches thick and perfectly baked throughout. The company obviously is trying very hard, as they have communicated well with me before and after receiving the product; I feel they want to insure I have a good experience with the product, and they've succeeded!.

Now that I've used this American made pie plate several times, I can attest that it really is as good as described. I'd searched all over for a shatter resistant glass pie dish and specifically borosilicate glass. I was hesitant that the size of the dish might be too large, but I've baked recipes calling for a 9" or 10" pan and it worked well for either size filling. I like the way the pies heat quickly without the bottom crust getting too brown, and the edges came out perfectly. Its got a nice design around the edge, kind of pretty. It also cleans up like a breeze. I always hand wash baking dishes, (I'm a stickler for taking care of my baking tools) so I'm not sure how it would do in dishwasher, but probably just fine. Over many years I've used every type of pie dish made from ceramic to metal to glass, and this one is a sure winner and one I'll likely use from now on. Cant believe I'm going back to glass after all these years. I'll probably have to get more of these for holiday baking. I'm very happy that this is made here in the US.

I love this pan. I can't believe I waited so long to buy a deep dish pie plate. The crust heated evenly and was wonderfully browned. I like the dish so much, I plan to buy another one.
