The case itself is good. It’s plastic. But is reasonably sturdy. It arrives spotless and scratch-free. If carefully kept, it will remain so. But, such plastic is easily scratched.The base is not truly mirrored. It comes with a shiny silver sticker you can apply to the base. It’s shiny and somewhat reflective, but hardly a true mirror. If you want to show off detailed features on the underside of something, it will disappoint.If you want to use them, the outside of the box has three printed sort of generic garage-themed backgrounds which you can cut out and put inside of the box for a backdrop and to give a theme. That’s nice. Anyone with a photo printer could make their own, maybe more specifically to their object.But here’s a problem: my display case and it’s box arrived with NO additional package at all. They just slapped a shipping label over one of those backgrounds and sent it on its way. They didn’t even bother to tape the ends shut. Inasmuchas there is no padding between the carton and the brittle plastic display case, it’s a miracle it arrived safely. And with the shipping label pasted on it and one of the backgrounds ruined, it’s not suitable for gifting, that’s for sure. So, if you are wanting to gift this, or if you want to use the backgrounds, you had best contact the seller first to inquire about how it will be packaged. Mine was fulfilled by Amazon; very disappointing (BTW, mine did arrive undamaged and I don’t care for the backgrounds, so this is not a problem for me).In short, I find this a bit overpriced for what it is, just two pieces of plastic, but it’s nice and will work well for me.

Base is not mirrored but reflective. Big differance.
