HDMI Audio Extractor 4K 60Hz 5.1 ARC HDMI to Audio Optical Toslink SPDIF Audio 3.5MM Audio Stereo Audio Converter Adapter

Worked great for what I needed it for. I use one Fires TV Stick through HDMI splitter to 5 Tvs and this extractor allows me to connect analog audio to my whole house audio system for TV audio and prime music throughout my house. Awesome product and great price for an easy solution.

Works as expected with no obvious flaws (it's Day 2). Purchased to sit between a PC (my music server) and television to strip the audio out of the HDMI signal to send to my integrated amp via digital SPDIF. This allows me to bypass the DAC in the television in favor of the better DAC in the amp. Since I have two optical-in ports on the amp, I ran a second SPDIF cable from the television digital-out port. This allows simple A/B comparison. There is a noticeable improvement to audio quality via the optical output from this device.PC, running Audirvana music software, -> HDMI out to this extractor ->> both an SPDIF line to my DAC/amp and HDMI to my television.

This unit seems to work as advertised, although the ARC switch doesn't operate as expected. Regardless of the position of the ARC switch, the "ARC" functionality is active. When feeding sound from my Roku (attached to TV) back to my A/V receiver, the receiver gets the sound via the ARC regardless of whether it is in the on or off position. The only difference seems to be, with the switch in the "ON" position, I get Dolby Digital sound to the receiver; whereas, with the ARC switch in the "OFF" position, I get 5.1 channel sound to the receiver. In theory, with the ARC set to "OFF", I should not be getting any sound from the Roku/TV to the receiver. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this might be happening?

So easy to use has both optical and stereo 1/8 inch outputs!!! Perfect for streaming from my fire stick into a projector and using optical for Dolby surround!!!

The problem I faced with this device is that the monitor did not auto switch to 4K@60Hz even with very short cables. But once I manually set the resolution of the graphics adapter on my computer at 4K@60Hz, it started working even with cables that do not carry 4K signal when directly connected. I tried 10' & 15' of Redmere slim cable on the input side and 6' cable on the output side with no artifacts showing up in the picture.I have not yet tried to use the audio extractor. But it performs well as a HDMI signal booster which itself is very useful. I will update the review once I try the audio.I am giving it 4 * for the poor (practically useless) documentation. I had to figure out the resolution issue myself by spending hours on the internet.

This worked great to connect our projector to our firestick & then output the audio to our Sonos speakers.

No idea what they mean by ARC support on the device. TV sees it as an input, but doesn't offer an option to send sound there. No way to make ARC work properly.

This item does work, and it does have ARC functionality. I have a Sony TV, which only outputs 2.0 sound via its TOSLink otuput, so I use this to capture the the 5.1 audio from its ARC connection, and route that to my receiver's TOSLink input.Unfortunately, this item seems to lose "sync" with the HDMI video input signal, causing a pink tinted picture. When this happens, the unit need to be reset by unplugging its power, which is extremely inconvenient (and not something that my other family members are really capable of understanding).Also, the documentation "pamphlet" that comes with the unit is extremely terse. There was quite a bit of trial and error involved in getting this unit installed.

Occasionally has to be reset for sound to work. Other than that works great!

I had a hard time making the audio work. Now it works but it cuts once in a while and sometimes it stops working. I have to reboot it and then works again for few hours/days.

I bought this so I could run my receiver off of the hdmi output and soundbar off of the optical output. The digital out doesn’t work though.
