Verilux 36W Natural Spectrum Replacement Compact Bulb - Verilux CFML36VLX

I bashed my lamp on the corner of the table I was moving it onto because I’m wonderfully talented and possess natural grace. The replacement bulb arrived quickly and works like a charm. Pricey, though.Edit: The bulb I purchased didn’t turn on this year as I pulled it out of my closet and plugged it in. I noticed this tan color where the glass meets the fixture and began to investigate what looked sort of like cardboard. It easily came apart. I’m so disappointed and will not be buying a $50 replacement that won’t work, when the original worked for over 5 years and only stopped working when it was dropped on accident and broke the bulb. Does the job, fit perfectly in my lamp with no trouble. Bright light that's great for an emergency light with my portable generator when power is out.

I decided to purchase a replacement bulb and it fit perfectly and was easy to swap out. The cost of the bulb was almost the same as purchasing a whole new light. No issues with the replacement bulb though. It works great.

I bought this as a replacement bulb, the original had cracked. 1 plus year later, the replacement bulb was also non-functional. Opened it up and saw the glass tubing was separating from the foundation, presumably letting all the mercury vapor out to poison my daughter who was the primary user. Did she tip it over, causing the failure? Was it just defective and became unglued from its base after normal use? Who knows, but after 30 bucks a pop and needing to replace again after likely light use I am crying uncle! Waste of money. Going to look for an LED happy light, which is in the same price range as this bulb, will be brighter, is more durable, and won't poison the user with mercury vapors for their money and troubles!

It's hard to find the correct bulbs for my "light box" lamps, locally. This bulb is it and is readily available through Amazon!

Generally a purchaser of this product buys it as a replacement for one that has expired. The cost of this product is shocking and it needs to come with an installation guide with pictures, as a first time buyer will be befuddled as to how to go about changing it out. It is not intuitive as to what has to be removed and it is easy to lose a part of the lamp if too much is disassembled unnecessarily. This happened to me. I'm till waiting to find the alignment/hold down bracket I misplaced. I will say this though; due to a long life of the old lamp you can expect the same here , but I would not buy it again as it is never totally secured within the lamp and rattles around when moved.

It is too soon for me to speak on longevity. I found a lamp at a thrift store and bought this replacement bulb. I now have it on all day in my office.

The bulb arrived in a carefully packed box with lots of cushioned layers. The bulb fit perfectly into my Happy Light and my morning timer turns on the lamp ~15 min before my alarm…my mornings are back to normal ☺️
