works better than $500 units
My 75 year old dad and I used these a Martinsville Speedway where there is constant noise. These blocked the car noise as well as foam ear plugs and the intercom system was awesome. The microphones did not pick up track noise and made communication between us as easy as if we were sitting in our living room. We have rented the popular ones ('RE) from the track before which sell for 500 dollars or more and these work much better. These plugged into my Uniden scanner and the volume was great didn't need to get an amplifier like you do with the other track headsets. If these work this well at Martinsville they will work at any race track. I would recommend these to anyone unless you have a couple of hundred dollars laying around and want the brand everyone else has, but they won't work as well as these do for less money. I have used both and these are worth it.

Works but not flashy
Ok and allows us to communicate at loud aces.

Great System
We rented the Racing Electronics intercom system for a few races and decided to buy our own. Even through these aren't the Racing Electonics brand, they are the identical Gemini-5 system. We've used these for five races and can't tell any difference between the two. Sound is good on both the scanner and intercom and we could easily hear over the constant noise at a Darlington. Glad we gave them a try.

Not usable at the track with a Uniden BC125AT scanner
Could not hear any of the race broadcast over the noise coming in from the cars. The intercom between headsets was loud and clear. Eventually unplugged the scanner and tried to use them as hearing protection but they were marginally effective. Very little track sound attenuationDid some trouble shooting with someone that had a Racing Electronics (RE) scanner and headset.1) I could hear race broadcast with the RE scanner plugged into my Race DAY Electronic headsets. Still a lot of track noise coming through2) The person with the RE headset could hear the race broadcast when plugged into my Uniden BC125AT scanner

Have had single headsets with no intercom. Bought these ...
Have had single headsets with no intercom. Bought these and used at Richmond for the first time. Worked ok but mouthpiece has to be close to mouth to fully hear, but still beats trying to talk over the cars

Exactly like Racing Electronic headset
Exactly like the headsets you can rent at the track for NASCAR races. In fact, I don't believe there is a difference at all. Came with the cords necessary to listen to a scanner and enough cords to link 3 headsets together, but I had to buy an additional cord because I got 4 headsets. Great product. If you're thinking about buying a good starter headset instead of renting them, this is the way to go.

Junk
To much static noise. One quit working first time out. Did not keep out enough background noise to be able to hear anything at the race.
