To be expected - nothing special. Wires are very thin and delicate. Honestly, to me this is no better than the one you can grab in the tool aisle of your grocery or dollar store. Since it's weak wiring, I would avoid using for anything that is not an egg. My old slicer was so durable, and I used it for many other uses - probably strawberries the most, for salads and yogurt. I would hold off and look around more, or find one in a store that feels sturdy.

I am completely bewildered at all of the great reviews for this product. I tried it for the first time this morning and had several issues:1) It is WAY too small for regular-to-large sized eggs! My eggs are on the large size, but not enormous at all, and it wasn't even close! I finally tried standing the egg up to do it, which kind of worked (although it was awkward), but then when I went to slice it the other direction I had to lay it down and it seriously isn't even close- half the egg just got smashed around the sides.2) The "blades" weren't even remotely sharp enough- even when I did manage to put my ill-fitting egg inside it, the blades just kind of smashed it all over the place.I have no idea why I am having so much trouble with this thing- I didn't think it was possible to make a bad egg slicer, but it is beyond terrible and I will be returning it!

The wires on my new tool were loose and I am afraid that I am quickly going to have the same problems with this tool as with the replaced tool... the wires are going to get caught and broke.

Bought this because reviews were good, but does not work well with Large eggs. I find it is too small.

Seems well built, but definitely too small for US Large eggs. Works OK with medium eggs, probably made for quail eggs.

OK for small eggs only, supersize eggs dont really fit.
