Pertronix D182604 Ignitor II Distributor with Non-Vacuum Cast for Volkswagen

I bought this (recommended by a VW guru friend) because I am tired of my points going closed on long trips. I also wanted to be able to box up my old distributor and keep it under the back seat. Vehicle is 64 commercial Double Cab. Air cooled 2 liter stroked (2017cc) with dual Kadrons. Followed the instructions, distributor installed easily, Re-adjusted my timing. Test runs around town proved smooth acceleration, no less power. (Performance hard to measure with a 105hp engine.) Did notice that idle smooths out much quicker at startup. Need to get out on the highway.

This distributor fit and worked spot on. I had trouble with others and this was a pleasure. Their tech support assisted me in putting together the best combination for a great system.

I would highly recomend for type 1 vw. I use this on my 1973 beetle wich is modified 2 liter engine and it works great! I definitly noticed a small improvment over the igintor 1 at higher rpm. I also like that there Made in USA.

Excellent replacement distributor. No more points. Ignitor 2 module does adaptive dwell correction at all RPM. Wires to the coil are soft high quality wire. Highly recommend buying the low resistance coil for this distributor to make the install and use problem free.

It didn’t come with an O ring and now I can’t get one, help, it’s my birthday!

great product but really hard to insert. use lots of oil and keep pushing and twisting - you'll eventually get in.
