Too many (half ?) recipes made with cream cheese
I like the style / design of the recipes: pictures, short ingredient list, large easy to read fonts, simple instructions in bulletin points.However, the recipes leave much to be desired. Most recipes are with cream cheese which isn’t easy, light or healthy like it states as it’s title. Either are scallops and octopus.Many of the recipes are also very similar, like one recipe of a tart is made with blueberries and the next page is the same recipe made with raspberries.

"Light" means "very little" here
I love Mallet's other Simple book so I was excited to try this one out, too. But this doesn't contain so many light recipes as it is recipes for appetizer-like dishes that you wouldn't necessarily eat as mains. Not was I was expecting.

Not for everyone
Recipe Ingredients are not typical and picky eaters have trouble finding something they like. The recipes have more of a French and European cuisine...

Few ingredients in each recipe, and quite tasty!
I bought this book on a whim, and I'm glad I did. It's true that the recipes have no more than 5 ingredients each, which I thought would be helpful in terms of simplicity and saving time, but the combination of certain ingredients to make certain dishes -- wow! -- never thought to combine such things And they do so to quite a good effect. Some of the ingredients are not easy to obtain, at least where I'm at (i.e. just east of Toronto, Canada), and/or can be highly seasonal, so some dishes will have to wait. Or if you can order things in, that would be helpful.Some of the recipes call for dairy, which I generally avoid, as well as some prepared cold cuts, but it's not the majority. Of the recipes that I've tried, the photos included with this review are:- Beef Salad with Raspberries Salad;- Cauliflower and Shrimp Cream;- Cream of Spinach and Celery Soup with Shrimp; and- (Mango) Curry Sauce (pictured over rice).Can never seem to get the dishes quite like the book, but in the end, quite tasty and unique.

The recipes are very basic and very easy to make
This book is not what I expected. Every recipe I looked at looked very diffrent, something I would never eat. The recipes are very basic and very easy to make. Let’s just say a burger with two slices of tomataos as the bun doesn’t seem very good. There are better cool books then this one.

Awesome cook book, love the content and photos very easy to follow. Each meal has an end product photo has what your meal should look like.
