Even some of the bulls are horned and proud.
The life of a cowboy is hard and dangerous. But a bull rider has some of the riskiest seconds of clock time to get to first place. It is a skill that requires respect for the animals and the guys that distract the bulls while the riders try to escape safely. A right second or less ride can break bones and bounce balls before the ground comes rushing up fast. The bull keeps jumping, spinning, and chasing the rider with evil thoughts and hard hooves, unless the clowns get the bull chasing them. Some bulls love to jump and stomp on a down rider. Even if they miss, the chances of minor injuries to fingers, wrists, and knees are high. Heavy clothing helps with cuts and scrapes, but the corral is not a clean place to play in the mud. The piles and puddles might be softer for landing, but your pride sinks as your whole backside is smeared and the smell will keep even friends away.Bareback bucking horse riding is a simpler and safer version of bull riding, but your body will not care how it got broke. Medical insurance rates are higher for riders and few risk not having coverage. The costs are tough if the injury prevents work so no income from competition winnings. Most riders do not have disability income or long term care coverage, either. Since most do not do college first, job experience is limited and unless they have good sponsors and good support systems, the future can be bleak. Yet many enjoy the challenges and the companionship of riding the circuit with many friends and much freedom as long as most body parts still work. The purses may seem large untill you consider sponsors or managers cuts, travel expenses, insurance, and medical expenses. The travel costs include pickup truck, RV trailer, gas, food, motels, maintenance, laundry, clothes, often a second pickup truck for the partner to pull a horse trailer, feed, veterinarian costs, utility fees or camping fees, and similar costs. Many have little left for permanent housing or training. But it can be the life for the cowboys that are willing to overcome fear to put on a show that pays better the harder the ride is on the bull or in the bed. Another short by Dick Parker and his stable of riders.

Coming Out is Exciting
A great read. The two main characters, Brandon and Reed, are well defined lovable characters. This is a very enjoyable coming out adventure encased in an interesting and exciting backdrop. If you like coming out stories and hot gay romance, you will love this story.

Cowboys aren't gay... are they?
Cowboys aren't gay. Or are they? This is a sweet story of two young guys who meet when learning to ride bucking bulls. They are immediately attracted to each other and when they catch a couple of the other trainees messing around, they decide to give it a try.Dick Parker's books are full of funny situations and believable characters who will steal your heart and give you a lift. Are cowboys gay? Oh yeah, and horny as hell.

Bareback Bull Rider
Bareback Bull Rider, Dick ParkerI just finished reading this book, and enjoyed it immensely. The subtitle says it: Hot Gay Romance. There's nothing like young love, especially between two young guys who meet after high school graduation, and learn that their career path is the same, and even better when they discover that they want to travel it together. This is some fun, sexy reading - something that I enjoy in Dick Parker's books.
