Justified - Season 1-4 [DVD + UV Copy] [2010]

My husband begged me to watch this new series together with him on netflix, and quite frankly I didn't have any idea, as to what it was about. I had concerns, that this would be another crime detective series or CIS clone. Having seen a lot of american series, I just didn't want to spend another hour watching much the same storyline with new actors.But I was SO wrong and the pilot took me by surprise. I was hooked.I couldn't get through the first season quick enough! And consequently we purchased all four seasons.Great actors/characters, whom you quickly get to care for - both those who are supposed to be `the good guys' and those who are definitely 'the bad guys'.Interesting setup - I haven't seen any other series set primarily in rural surroundings (Harlan County, Kentucky) - where everybody can justify their actions.The makers of this series have created something new - a modern western with gangster elements, which introduced me to a whole new musicgenre, ganstagrass - combining bluegrass with gangstarap. I hadn't seen that one coming!And about Timothy Olyphant... what's not to like?His character is a modern version of the classical western hero - like 'Clint Eastwood'. My husband doesn't quite agree with me on that one. Can't imagine why!!In short get it now!!! You won't regret it.I'm looking forward to season 5!Lena Griffenfeldt Bøttcher

I rented season 1 of this series not sure if it was my cup of tea. By episode 2 I was totally hooked - so much so that I bought this boxed set and wait excitedly for Season 5 to be released.There is something utterly compelling about this series. It is based on an Elmore Leonard short story 'Fire in the Hole'. It takes place in Kentucky - a state where religion and guns go hand in hand and people often get shot for the stupidest of reasons. A bit scary and hilarious at the same time for people in a country where guns are not the norm. Timothy Olyphant, as the laconic deputy sheriff who tries so hard not to shoot people but usually always does, is not only gorgeous but mesmerising. The acting and writing is clever and superb and you actually care about the characters. It is not often that you get an American series of this calibre and I recommend it wholeheartedly.

Great series - first watched them on TV, but have still enjoyed watching them again on DVD. The only slight complaint is that the UV Copy voucher code has expired. I know the DVDs were released a few years ago, but I would have thought that the download option would have still been available - I still paid the same price for them!

Could never understand why Justified was not better appreciated and one had to search for it on little known channels. We are delighted to now start at the beginning and follow the various weird and wonderful characters and stories - obviously Timothy Olyphant is always worth watching and the rest of the cast are just great and the dialogue is rich and sometimes very funny - pity the accents are sometimes a bit too rich to understand!

I love this series! You have Timothy Olyphant with brilliant one liners, the baddies and their families are all very territorial and settle squabbles by shooting people. As his character, anything suspect means he has to go to various families properties, which have sometimes serious, sometimes crazy funny consequences. His boss has a dry sense of humour, so conversations between them is great fun. So you have relationships both couples and families, different types of humour, and some serios topics thrown in. Love love love!

I bought this for my nephew. We recently saw the film 3 Billboards in Epping Missouri. I promised him that since he loved that he would love this series set in Kentucky, as it has similarly great stories, an amazing script and a fantastic set of characters. Even better, there are 6 seasons to look forward to. I plan to watch this series all over again!

Just ok, don’t really see what all the hype is about, it’s a sort of Saturday afternoon American cop show and it some places looks a bit cheapy. If you liked Starsky and Hutch this is for you but if you liked Breaking Bad then it’s not.

It was too southern, too superficial for me. Waste of money. My hub said it got better during seasons but i didn't cope to wait for that moment

Das ist für mich die beste Krimiserie herrlicher südstaatenslang. Viel Humor und action und eine extrem coole Hauptfigur. Habe die 4 Staffeln jetzt schon zweimal gesehen...supergeil

He valorado, principalmente la historia de cada una de las temporadas, la 2ª me parece buenísima. Nos enseña un aspecto de USA que pocos españoles pensamos que exista, totalmente salvaje.Bien interpretada, con unos secundarios increíblesLa recomendaria a los amantes de series como "Deadwood" y del mejor western, en general.

...statt ewig auf merkwürdige prrogrammplaner zu warten....jede staffel baut sich nach dem gleichen prinzip auf; trotzdem spannung ist garantiert und das hinterland der usa ist real!
