I initially purchased the Purple (Upgraded Cool Cover). I was skeptical; I have tried too many other options through the years, with hope that I could sleep without constant hip and back pains.The first night, I placed the pillow under my lower back and hips. I am a side sleeper, so I positioned the pillow to cushion my hip. Before I knew it, my body was relaxed, not tense as usual. I said to my husband, "Oh my goodness... I don't want to jinx myself, but this is so comfortable!" For the first time since I can't remember for years, I slept and refreshed. Typically, my sleep would be interrupted by agonizing pains. Now, thanks to this remarkable pillow, I no longer dread exhausting and restless bedtime.My husband was so impressed with mine, he has his own now, too: Blue (Upgraded Cool Cover). He is a side sleeper. He positions his vertically, for his hip and leg.UPDATE:These pillows have made such a positive difference (both sleeping and sitting). I forgot to mention earlier... I want to make an additional note: I also use a second pillow for my lower back and hip when I sleep.I threw away our old subpar lumbar pillows. Instead, I added two more *vamorry* Upgraded Cool pillows. Now our (hubby's and my) collection has five. We use them in bed and armchairs. Truly, we are grateful to have these healing pillows in our life.P.s. These pillows have amazing memory. I adore this pillow.I bought it on a mad rush for products to help with lower lumbar pain, and I thought to myself "there's no way that this will help" but the price was worth the risk.And it WAS worth the risk. This pillow is my new favorite tool. I've almost ordered a second bc I use this while lying or sitting on the couch and while in bed. I get immediate relief when my lower back starts to twinge (along with a padded support for my work chair).The overall pillow is simple and well made from what I can tell. I've recommended it to several people with similar back issues or looking for support while in bed or on the couch.I did notice you had to get used to using it, it does tell you when it comes to only use it for an hour and then to take a break. My body likes to tell me that it's in pain by being nauseous and after about an hour laying on it, I would get nauseous, but after about a week or two this went away and now I use it for a few hours at a time.I personally do not sleep with it bc I move a lot while sleeping, and while it's easily adjustable under you, I don't want to have to do it while sleeping. Overall, I love it and would buy it again.

This pillow works well to elevate the small of my back taking pressure off my herniated lumbar disk. I bought this pillow after researching how to help my back pain between medical procedures. This fit the bill. The pillow is comfortable when laying down or reclining and it's wide enough to support my entire back. For me, it doesn't work well in a chair as it sits below my lumbar disc area. The memory foam is cool and doesn't trap heat. The cover is washable so it can be cleaned if necessary. I deducted one star because the cover of my pillow arrived with a two-inch hole in the seam. If you have lower back injuries this might work well for you.

OMG - my wife has chronic back pain and an old compression fracture in her lower thoracic region. She always sleeps with a pillow between her legs, but I got her this to see if it'd help. She was skeptical, but even I noticed the difference the next day. After a week, I ordered one for me too. I have nightly hip pain and have to turn over frequently - this has reduced that pain significantly. Great design, price, and quality. The cushion shapes to each of us easily and its very comfortable. Get one of these!
