Awesome little sensor!

You do not need the Aqara Hub if you intend to run this sensor as part of a Home Assistant integration. Instead you will need a Zigbee dongle, etc., and that's it! This sensor works very well and installs easily. As far as I am concerned the build quality is great and thus far I have had zero connectivity issues. The price is more than reasonable for what you are getting. I intend to buy more Aqara sensors.

Works easily in home automation.

Good basic sensor. Works fine. It does work with the Hubitat Elevation C with no major hassle setting up. Use mostly in basement as part of a routine to start a manual dehumidifier as needed. (Hubitat Routine also sends a text to let me know it was turned on and a reminder to check water level in 8 hours)

Do the job but concerned with the battery.

The form factor is very small, therefore it can be easily installed anywhere. The Aqara Home App don’t allow to visualize the battery level. Everyone must have been using the Xiaomi app. (Mi Home)A way to check battery level is from the Apple Home app. (For iPhone users)With the battery straight out of the box, first measurement was 75%.Now, 4-5 days after, battery level is at 62-64%.It’s a short period of time Toni or if the device is not capable of measuring the battery properly or not. But seems like it’s important to use good batteries afterwards, like energizer for example.About the accuracy, it seems to be aligned with a pretty accurate device.I did get two sensors right away. They were having a small difference one to another. And these were, for testing, side by side. Conclusion :These are good for indication. For truly accurate measurement, I don’t think these can fulfill the need. It’s cheap, seems to not do well with battery life. Temperature can be trusted, humidity is I think a rough estimate, and battery level seems totally off.

Perfect for Home Assistant

I have a few of these both inside and (sheltered in a 3d print) outside the house for fan control. The battery lasts longer than most of my zigbee sensors and they are accurate and reliable. Stick em and forget. They rotate off for battery replacement without and rotate back on. Just about to buy another so dropping in the review.

Incredibly inaccurate and impossible to open battery cover.

I ordered three of these. One for my attic. One for my master bedroom. One for my office.I already put on the labels so there wouldn't be any mix-ups.Office setup without an issue. Pulled the plastic tab, held down the button and Zigbee with Home Assistant Yellow identified it and got set up easily and immediately. Battery level is at like 84% for some reason but... whatever.Attic. I pulled the plastic and it broke! Battery still wasn't making contact. So I had to get a butter knife to twist the cover off. It wasn't easy but eventually it came off. I was able to pull the rest of the plastic off and go the same setup. Annoying but acceptable. Battery also at 84%.The one for the bedroom almost made me violent. That plastic battery tab ALSO tore/broke! And I couldn't twist off the cover as easily! I used the knife and I was getting closer to digging a hole to the battery than twisting the cover off. I had to risk stabbing myself in the hand with a kitchen knife to pry it off! Even then one of the three plastic arms (or whatever they're called that hold it in place) wasn't coming out of its slot. I had to use force to pull it off. Then I needed to use a phillips head screwdriver to remove the metal battery cover (because the plastic cover isn't enough, then use the knife again to pry out the 2032 battery just to remove the dime sized plastic that couldn't get pulled out. I put the battery back in, screwed the metal cover back on, put the plastic cover back on and finally got everything set up.Now... after making my therapy appointment I compared the readings of all three sensors sitting right next to each other on the carpet.Office humidity 58.94%Office pressure 14.4Office temperature 74.26FAttic humidity 56.98%Attic pressure 14.4Attic temperature 73.72FBedroom humidity 52.43%Office pressure 14.4Office temperature 77.47FSomeone please explain how three sensors less than 4 inches apart can read vastly different temperatures and humidity?Between 73F-77F in temperature and 52%-58% humidity? How reliable are these?Page 3 of the manual (because I'm one of the 3 people that read them) give it a +– 0.54F variance. I'm looking at 8x that! This isn't of one reading 74.5 and the other 74. This is one is reading 73 and the other 77.Yeah... if you want something accurate, SKIP.

Need automation? Get this!

I love how easy and tiny they are! Battery still hasn’t died on me. Always stays connected with hub and HomeKit! I have one on the ceiling in each room. This is my best friend when it comes to bathroom. Once the humidity hits this % then it automate the switch to turn on bathroom fan! When it drops below % then it turns off the bathroom fan!I found this to show more accurate temperature and humidity than HomePod does. Plus HomePod doesn’t work with automation. This one does! HomePod is very slow with updating while this is rapid and consistent!

Alerted me when it needed to

I love how small the device is so that I can fit it out of the way under my fridge and dishwasher. Signal seems to be steady. I'm using it with Home Assistant via a Zigbee dongle rather than the Aqara app and bridge.I've only had it a couple weeks, but it has already done it's job when I had a leak under the sink (First one since we got the house over 15 years ago). Happy with it so far.
