Shoulderpod R2 Pocket Rig - portable smartphone rig

I've never gotten comfortable using my iphone as a camera having grown up with 35mm film cameras. There was just something nice about being able to cradle the camera in one hand and adjusting the lens in the other. That, and the heft of the camera was an old habit that was hard to break. I've never felt comfortable holding a little, lightweight phone and taking pictures. More often than not a finger or thumb covers the lens because the lens is not in front of the viewfinder.I researched and purchased this Shoulderpod Rig after a recent vacation, where most members of my tour group were using their smart phones and were taking beautiful pictures. I knew I had to get with the times.While I haven't used the rig on a trip yet, I have played around with it and I can say that it securely holds my iphone as the metal screw mechanism seems extremely solid. This is important, as if you use the wrist strap (which makes sense) you want to know your phone isn't going to fall out.The real wood grip is a nice touch these days, as plastic seems to be the material of choice for just about everything. It looks good and it feels good in the hand. I was concerned that it might be too small, but once I started playing with it, it is just right.The ability to add a microphone for video with the accessories is an bonus. This product has enough "adaptability" to meet just about anyone's needs.I looked at alternatives that cost a quarter as much, but I really don't think I would have been satisfied with them. For me, this is exactly what I wanted and needed.

Very good product. And I am extremely happy witness build quality. Modularity - it can be set up in multiple ways to attach a range of accessories..My only complaint is that I bought it via amazon prime. Paid a high cost for a high quality item.. on top of an expensive monthly subscription to amazon and the package I received was already opened and the item itself scratched.Disappointed but I’m not petty enough to return it for a new one, as that’s not it’s purpose. Just petty enough to write this review, which no one from amazon will read I imagine.

Der Shoulderpod kam hübsch verpackt mit einer Lieferzeit von gerade einmal 2 Tagen bei mir an. Neben der tollen Verarbeitungsqualität überzeugt das Produkt vor allem durch die beworbene Modularität der einzelnen Bauteile. Da ich neben meiner Olympus-Kamera mit Teleobjektiv und Stativ auch ein kleines, mobiles Setup aus Huawei Mate 10 Pro und einer Yi-4k-Action-Kamera betreiben wollte, bot sich der modulare Aufbau des Shoulderpod sehr gut für mein Vorhaben an. Ich wurde nicht enttäuscht: Das Ergebnis ist klasse (siehe Fotos). Selbst der kleine Gimbal für die Yi 4k lässt sich durch Neupositionierung des Holzgriffs anbringen - und das Ganze ist immer noch absolut ergonomisch. Der Preis von 80 Euro ist natürlich hoch angesetzt, dafür bekommt man aber eine ausgezeichnete Verarbeitung, langlebige Materialien und den Vorteil des modularen Aufbaus. Sehr zu empfehlen!The Shoulderpod comes with a considerable price tag but still holds up to its promises. Excellent build quality and material selection, sophisticated modular design - what you see is what you get. I got this thing running even with my Huawei Mate 10 Pro, a Yi 4k action camera and a small but powerful gimble attached to the wooden handle (see pics below). タイトルの通り造りが良いですスマホホルダー的なのは多々ありますが殆どが（全部と言っていいかも）スプリングの力のみで挟む物ばかりですですがコチラの商品はスプリング+ネジ固定でとても楽に挟めますし固定力も抜群ですグリップの質感も素晴らしく手に馴染みますコールドシューや取り付ける為のネジも金属製で耐久性もありますとにかく造りが良く高いだけはあるなと一つ自分的に不満があるとしたらグリップの長さぐらいですねもう2cmぐらい長いともっと持ちやすくなってたかも総合的には満足で購入して良かったと思います

GoProを取り付けスマートフォンをモニターとして使う為購入しました。特にモニターの付いてないGoProsessionなので重宝します。本体自体、 思っていた通りの質感と重量感で納得の商品でした。iPhone6sプラスでも挟み込むことは出来るのですが若干咥え込む上部分が開き気味に見えるのがしかし気になりますが、まぁ許容範囲かとおもいます。使い心地はガッチリホールドしてくれるので撮影は間違いなく安定します。

bitplay SNAP!と合わせて三脚に固定するとiPhoneの取り外しが楽です。思ったよりマイクとiPhoneの間が狭いので照明を取り付ける予定の人は大きさに注意した方がいいと思います。私はrodeのマイクを使っていますが端子の変換アダプタが必要だったので同時に購入しました。iPhoneに外部マイクをつける時は注意してください。
