Helps me water my garden
These paired easily to my Moes multi-mode gateway (Zigbee coordinator) using the Smart Life app, and a press of the button changed them from Celsius to Fahrenheit. I've got these and others in my garden about fifty feet from the window where the gateway is placed. The signal isn't strong, not I've never lost a connection. They don't work with Alexa, but I've got some cheap Smart Life plugs that do. I have set up automations in Smart Life that toggle the plugs. Alexa can trigger routines based on the changing state of the plugs. This way if the soil gets dry I can let Alexa know by turning on the plug. (I use a three-port USB switch, which saves space and money.)

No Control
There is no way to control how often data is sent. What a waste of money.

Works fine with zigbee2mqtt
This sensor is picked up by zigbee2mqtt without any issues. The update frequency is not very high, but that shouldn’t be an issue since soil moisture doesn’t change that much, often.Hopefully this will make the 2 AAA batteries last long.Cons: a bit expensive, especially considering these same ones go on aliexpress for roughly $5-$7 a piece.I would love to add more of these sensors, but at this price it gets costly quick. The temperature is always reported in celsius, even though the button switches from celsius to fahrenheit. Not a huge issue, but worth mentioning. My battery is always reported as low (see screenshot), but this might be due to the NiMH batteries that I’m using, instead of alkalines (2.4V vs 3V). So far it hasn’t impacted the functionality, and hopefully it will keep functioning for a long time, despite reporting low battery.I’m using mqtt2prometheus to log the readings, to then graph in Grafana. In the future I plan to automate my sprinklers based on the moisture level, but I would need more sensors to cover all areas…

Very poor range
Has to be within ten feet of a Zigbee router to connect.

Works with hubitat but questionable readings
This device paired almost instantly with my Hubitat device. Hubitat doesn't have a built in driver but following through the forums for that device, I found a discussion about the driver and used a custom driver that seemed to work reasonably well. I went this route because I do not run zigbee2mqtt and much prefer to stick with native drivers for the Hubitat, even if they need to be added.Looking at logs and such from the device, I can easily tell it is receiving the anticipated data publications and reporting them to Hubitat. However, while the temperature readings seem to be reasonably accurate, after a period of time monitoring, I noticed that the moisture barely budges. I have another Tuya based zigbee soil sensor not far away and the fluctuations in it are much greater and more in line with my expectations so I have to question the readings of this one.

Works in Z2M
Connected easily to my Z2M in Home Assistant. The device works great to monitor my soil soil moisture in a bad where I have my roses. It seems like it is working well and I assume that the it is accurately monitoring the moisture in my soil. I am curious to see how long the battery life will be on this device.

doesnt work
Can't get this to work consistently with Z2M and sonoff usb coordinator. All of my other sensors at closer and further distances have no issue.

Used with Home Assistant
Haozee Smart Zigbee Soil Moisture SensorThis sensor works seemlessly with our home setup, and alerts me when my plants are especially dried out. Helps me stay on top of watering them so the poor green little guys don't shrivel up. I did note the battery doesn't last super long, but it's easy to swap them out and put the sensor back in the soil
