Recommended reading for newbie and experienced maths educators alike
Mr Mattock has taken all the excellent visual teaching ideas that have been circulating in Maths education and pulled them together into a valuable resource. From algebra to proportion, there's a picture for that. These are not gimmicks or tricks, nor are they the latest educational bandwagon. It is a book of solid concepts in a visual format.Non-specialist maths teachers at both KS2 & KS3 can increase their depth of understanding, which will improve their classroom instruction.Experienced educators can look at old topics through fresh eyes or revisit strategies they used earlier in their careers. With page upon page of full colour illustrations and detailed text, this highly engaging book is a must have for maths teachers. I would even suggest it's a must read for NQTs and PGCE students.

A truly cross-phase book that will help all maths teachers with their practice
This book will make you think about maths a lot; the underlying structure and how different aspects of maths fit together. Very few books will help you visualise mathematics from ages 3-18 but this one will.
