PUTNAMS INFLATABLE STADIUM SEAT CUSHION. Maximum comfort even on the hardest seating. Hand Wash

I've used these cushions for well over a decade having tried many alternatives but none were suitable. I have hypersensitive skin due to autoimmune conditions, and use hospital style 'ripple' cushions and mattress at home. I can't sit on a "static" surface for more than 5-10 mins before it becomes unbearable. The stadium cushion provides good relief because the air inside it shifts about so relieving pressure on any one area constantly which helps. Not as good as the electric ones but ideal for an hour out of the house.Years ago Putnams had outsourced the production of these I think, but for some reason then had to change the original manufacturer and that (to me) seems to have been the start of a problem that I haven't as yet seen fully resolved, and perhaps it never can be.The valve used to blow the cushion up has a rather flimsy seating in the cushion material. While I, unlike some others, have figured out the process of expanding them from new (and yes- it's lung expanding alright - good exercise for them tho!! Much easier after the first time), I know not to fully expand them. Regardless, I've had a long standing problem with some only lasting for a few months of being sat on for less than an hour daily, slow deflating, and having to be constantly reinflated. Once that problem arises, I know I'll have at best 2 weeks before the cushion is just done (deflating within seconds of inflating).Despite all of those issues, it's still the only cushion I find I can use regularly. I have a bigger one which has a seat back as well & costs about the same, which is great too but so bulky I only use it for longer requirements e.g. church. But the Stadium cushion is nice and light and more easily transportable.So much depends on what you want to use it for. If not over filled and not overly used it could well last for a year or two, but be aware that it does have that one weak point - if you find a way to ensure the seal stays solid, please let us all know :)

I bought this because I have a nine hour flight booked and find the plane seats uncomfortable after a while. I also expect to be using a sun lounger a lot during my two week holiday and have found in the past that these can become uncomfortable as well. The Putnams cushion is not worth taking on my trip. You can see from the photo that it does not lay flat - this is regardless of how hard or soft it is inflated. The biggest problem, however, is that it is so uncomfortable to sit on. I have tried it on various surfaces including my office chair, my armchair, my car seat and a wooden stool, and the cushion makes all of these more uncomfortable than sitting on the chairs without it. It is simply not fit for purpose and certainly does not meet the seller's description of 'Maximum comfort on the hardest seating'.

Be aware you will need a method of inflating this cushion. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN STATED IN THE DESCRIPTION. You will never manage it with your mouth, (I have good lung capacity never having been a smoker and whilst I could qet air into it I would have passed out long before it was inflated! My compressor's airline did the job however. Time will tell how well it holds the air, but I would expect it to lose air over time, even car tyres do, and think about how thick they are.

Have back problems including osteoporosis. Took this cushion on a tour to South Africa recently as a 'shock absorber' for my spine when sitting on planes, coaches and hard seats. It was totally effective so I am very pleased. Have seen criticisms of the cushion on Amazon, particularly regarding air escaping and deflation. I weigh about 9 stones/126 lbs and did not experience this problem. However, a heavier individual might. Perhaps the manufacturer could produce different designs/versions related to the weights of potential users.

it is rubbish...too bad there isn't a zero star rating. DO NOT BUY this item unless you only want to sit on it for half an hour! Could somebody advise how I get my money back or get it replaced for a non-leaky one!?!
