Just wish I had the parking cam
Love this so far. Easy to install, I like the suggestion of how to hide the wires. Connects great. The picture is superb. It's rained so hard sometimes, I've had to use the camera to see because the picture was clearer. Turns on as soon as I start my car (usually, sometimes you have to check the wires). You can save a video right away if something happens. I had an incident in which I couldn't save it right away, I had to wait til I got to safety, but it still saved the video. I wish I didn't have to pay for the parking set up separately and needed wiring and crap because my car got hit while it was parked and the cameras meant nothing. I do feel they are a good deterrent for criminals, usually. Good recording capability. Occasionally one of my kids or a passenger will snag the wire and rip the camera down by accident, but it's pretty durable. good quality for the price, great for a new driver, long trips or shady neighborhoods (better with parking cam). I would recommend

Great 4k dual dash cam for a ridiculous low price
I’ve purchased several higher priced dash cams than the Rove, and quite frankly the Rove offers far superior performance at a far lower price point. I mean the value is incredible for what you get. The tech specs on this are actually more impressive than the flagship Garmin X310 cam that I also recently purchased. What separates the two is ease of use; the Garmin is easier to set up and easier to use, and also offers cloud based subscription services that aren’t offered by Rove. The Garmin cams are also smaller and less obtrusive, with higher quality matte plastic. But as far as features and video quality for the money, this Rove is unmatched. You get a front 4k dash cam plus a rear dash cam, plus all necessary installation hardware, including a memory card, for 1/3 the cost of a comparable Garmin. The Rove doesn’t have a touch screen, and setup is somewhat tedious even for someone such as myself who is very tech savvy. All said and done though, this camera is proof that you can have an outstanding flagship device for very low cost, provided you’re willing to deal with some tedious installation and setup as well as forgo any extra cloud based support.

Dash Cam with All the Bells and Whistles
My husband and I have been looking for a dash cam for our Ford Mustang Mach-E. The ones Ford sells as accessories have not had the features we are looking for, and also cost A LOT! So, we have been looking on Amazon for a couple months. Then, I saw this ROVE R2-4K Front and Rear dash cam for a very VERY competitive price. It has all the features we wanted, including very good quality video, small size that is unobtrusive on both the front windshield and the back, and records all the time on an included 128GB micro-SD card. It also has a parking mode that will record depending on your selection of one of the options, even when the engine is off and the car is parked. This is a really amazing product and while the installation wasn't simple (we had to remove some panels inside the car to run the wires "invisibly") it was really worth it.

I was able to install it by myself
I’ve been happy with this product. I’m glad to have a front and rear recording of my driving. I bought the camera and the supplemental hardwire kit. Although I don’t have a background in tech or autos, I’m educated, patient, and willing to follow directions. I was able to do the hardwire installation in my Toyota RAV4 by myself with the instructions provided and watching several tutorial videos that people are nice enough to share. It took many hours because I was being cautious and careful (so many hours that I didn’t realize I was draining my car battery and had to jump it!). It also was a mental hurdle for me to mess with fuses and pull apart the interior paneling of my car in order to hide the wiring but I got over it. I watched several YouTube videos of other people popping panels in their RAV4s of various years in order to feel like I had a plan. Something specific to the 2017 RAV4 was that it was very challenging to thread the wire to the rear camera through the conduit that goes to the rear hatch door. In the end it all was installed and all hidden. When I had a technical issue with the firmware update I texted the help number. A real person answered and actually helped to solve the problem. The reasons it’s not a 5-star perfect product:- Image quality. You can only read a license plate number when it’s closely parked directly in front of the camera. You can’t zoom in on cars that are farther away even though I can still read a plate that far away with my bare eyes. So I’ve gotten in the habit of stating the plate number of naughty cars out loud in case it ends up not being readable on the video.- The automatic on/park-mode/off isn’t always seamless. I’m not sure how much of that is the finicky battery of my RAV4 hybrid vs the hardwire kit- Little design things like the power cable that goes to the cigarette lighter has a nice compact 90-degree bend but the one for the hardwire kit sticks out perpendicularly. Just doesn’t look as nice for something this is permanently installed on your windshield. And at this point I wouldn’t bother replacing it since I went to all the trouble to hide the path of the wire and hardwire it in the fuse box.For the price, it definitely took extra hours of my labor. In the future if I could buy a car and have a camera installed as a premium upgrade I probably would, but this does the job well for now.
