The Art of Typing: Powerful Tools for Enneagram Typing

I received my copy of Ginger's new book over a weekend and used it to support a client in just three days! What I love most about the type tools is they have multiple ways to discern differences in personality structures, as well as characteristics types *share.* For example, how do the competency types -- 1s, 3s and 5s, look similar? Ginger helps you understand motivation. Over and over again, we are asked to "Listen for this." Don Riso's "Enneagram Transformations" is the best book I've found for helping people land in Presence and then, with compassion and curiosity, cultivate awareness about our ego projects. The "Art of Typing" helps you learn how to listen from Presence -- deepen relationships -- making this book valuable whether you are interested in leadership development, family dynamics, or personal well-being. Ginger delivers practical frameworks that creatively foster deeper understanding. Wise, straightforward, fresh- and fun!

This is a great guide to typing people using the Enneagram. It has superb typography. As na Ennea-5 I have become more attentive to additional sides of being, including physicality. Each Ennea-type is compared with each other, and the book has many insights into the diverse human spectrum. I find I am dipping back into this book on a frequent basis, and I am keeping it on my current book reading pile.

This book is a must for every coach or councilor that is using the enneagram. I took part in Ginger's training „coaching with the enneagram“ a few weeks ago and since then I have been using this book extensively as a manager and leader in one of the leading IT companies in the Silicon Valley. The book is written in a very simple, conceptual and structured way and this helps me with my day to day job leading my team. Pictures are worth thousand words and the cartoon depictions in this book help you get to the essence of the type faster then anything else. Thank you Ginger and team!!!!

This is a comprehensive book to help you lead others in finding their type! I’ve read a million enneagram books and this is one of the most practical, easy-to-read book! Cute little illustrations. And it’s organized BEAUTIFULLY so you can easily find with you need!

Excellent tool to assist accurate type identification. The book is practical and concepts easy to use and understand. The illustrations are engaging and provide a fun and powerful visual that advance understanding of the types and subtypes. The core questions and what to listen for to differentiate between common type lookalikes is a key resource to use with increasing self mastery as coach and working with clients. A valuable add to the tool kit of any student of the enneagram.

Amazing tool for discerning enneagram type. Illustrations are helpful. Also, the way the author structured the book to compare differences between types is the best I’ve ever seen. In a very clear and succinct way, subtle nuances of the types are illuminated.

Rarely have I read a book that is so "right on spot, deep, simple and accessible" at the same time. It is an amazingly deep-thought synthesis of what is the Enneagram (beyond the "personality type" tool appearances), how it's helpful and how to use it thoroughly and humanly. I feel the author generously shares with the world the wisdom she gathered throughout her professional expertise, her encounters and her human analysis. And she does it in a very easy-to-understand, fun and yet very serious way. I already recommended this book to everybody around me! This is the book we have been waiting for in ages. I want to say a BIG thank you to Ginger Lapid-Bogda for this fantastic book. This book is a wonder to work with. It demystifies so much how to identify a type versus another one. The questions are very accurate and pertinent. I teach the Enneagram myself and I now use this book all the time with my students.
