Jaclo8023-PCH Drop-In Showerarm Mount, Polished Chrome

I received this yesterday, thank you Amazon Prime free 2 day shipping.It's a very solid feeling chunk of metal (chrome plated brass). When I installed it I was able to screw it on nice and tight without having to worry about the threads breaking like I do on all the other plastic versions. Once installed securely this thing did not leak from any of the connectors or the ball joint.The only plastic on this is 2 o-rings and a what I assume is a low flow aerator which I quickly and easily removed, I want my showers full strength. To remove it just take out an o-ring unscrew the aerator and replace the o-ring.The chrome plated plastic versions of this everyone sells will eventually break after a year or two. Hopefully this things will last a decade or longer with only having to replace o-rings. I don't mind paying more for this because I'm willing to pay for something that is not just disposable junk.The only reason I rate this 4 star instead of 5 is because this product is not made in the US and I did not notice a country of origin on the package. This is not a deal breaker for me, but was disappointed that the package states "Packaged in the USA" but not where it was made.

This is a follow up review, as I purchased this unit in 2015 and it was installed in 2016. It is september 2019 that I post this, which means it lasted around 3 years. I purchased this unit after being frustrated with replacing the plastic ones every couple of years when they break. I am a believer in "you only pay the high price once". This morning, mine, like many others that have reported, came apart at the internal plastic joint, and broke apart, spraying water everywhere. It would appear that buying the cheap ones and plan on replacement is the plan to go with.

Like everyone else here looking to replace the cheap plastic mount that came with your original shower head kit, this one is made of brass and will not break. I think the price is a little too steep for what it is, but I couldn't find any other competitor. I am not so sure of the mechanical skills of those who complained about installing this product, but as an experienced DIYer, this was a snap to install. The question was if the handle of my shower head would fit properly, as I am sure they all vary somewhat. Sure enough, my shower handle had a small O-ring that was designed to help it fit snugly into that now broken junk of a mount it came with. So, it did not fit this mount. I removed the O-ring and, Voila!, perfect fit. Couldn't be happier. Now I have one less item on my honey-do list.

***Update: On May 27th the plastic ring inside the metal collar that keeps the mount on the ball joint disintegrated, resulting in the handheld shower and the mount falling off the wall mid-shower. I'm not sure if the plastic is cheap, or if it was just overly taxed because the range of motion is too small. I certainly expected a $53 investment to last more than 18 months, about the same as the plastic pieces of junk you can buy. So disappointed, this mount has so much potential, but in the end it was still let down the same way its cheaper rivals were, by the plastic.***As another reviewer said, if you're looking for it, you're replacing some cheap plastic parts. I've only had it a few weeks, but I'm already amazed. It leaks less than the old plastic fitting, has a great movement, feels like it will last forever, and even holds the handheld shower head in such a way that it doesn't slip into other angle

Made of good quality but the swivel does not allow rotating downward as much at the old plastic one so it is very hard for my wife to reach the hand held shower. The angled pipe coming out of our wall is quite high so this poses a problem for us, as much as this cost I would have expected as much rotation/swivel as the old plastic one.

This is the final solution for the breaking shower arm mount problem. I was sick and tired of my wife telling me the plastic mounts I installed leaked. I must have put up at least 3 of the plastic kind of the years. I know that the price is big but for me it was worth it to avoid all the broken plastic parts.

This is a direct replacement for the shower arm used by most hand showers available at the home center. The difference here is this one is totally made of brass (including the hook) and contains no chrome plated plastic. If you are reading this, then you are probably here because yours broke and you want a real metal one to replace it. My only issues with this item is the price (I wish it was a little less expensive) and the swivel is a little loose but will hopefully tighten up over time with some mineral deposits added into it. So don't waste your time looking for one like this in the store because they simply don't have them due to the price point.

trying to save a few dollars, on cheap plastic shower mount, can be very frustrating when it keep breaking every few days,this is a one time investment, and we love it,we have a 2 yr old, who loves the shower, and i dont have to think twice, to change its position,with the plastic mount, u have to think, its just a matter of when it will break, if u try o change its position,its solid metal made, and hopefully, will last forever,price wise- should be half the price of what they are selling it for, but thinking about an one time investment, it does not seem too expensive
