amazing and unique baby shower gift
This is something the littles in my life have enjoyed playing with and I try and gift it as a shower present, regardless of when the baby is born. Every child needs to learn at an early age the true meaning of Christmas and that Jesus is approachable.

It's weird, not great for actual Advent
I didn't pay much attention to this when I bought it in a hurry (less than a week til Advent started). Thankfully, my kids are too young to question things, but I absolutely would not recommend for kids older than maybe 5 if you want it to *actually* be used for Advent or to teach about... well, anything. It's contents are very strange- kinda like they cleaned out a kid's toy box and threw all of the miscellaneous stuff at the bottom into an Advent Calendar and called it a day. You've got a cat wearing a collar, a dog, various farm animals (none of which are even remotely proportionate- the rooster is bigger than the sheep), but then it gets even weirder. There are two GIANT ears of corn on the cob, like, they are bigger than baby Jesus and... well, anything else really. The tree is definitely something else, as in, it's in the wrong part of the world entirely and would not fit in this scene. Then the final super weird/out-of-place item (I hope, but it's only the 18th) is the GIANT bushels of BANANAS. Again, larger than half the farm animals and these mutant bananas (which I'm like 97.3% sure did not grow in Bethelem 2000+ years ago) could crush the good Lord baby Jesus if accidentally set upon him. (*Update- bananas did not make their appearance til the 16th century in Israel, so yeah, out of place and just... weird. *Double update: there was also no corn on the cob in B.C. Bethlehem either (this corn is also a HUGE choking hazard as its perfectly shaped and sized to lodge nicely in the esophagus if you have other little ones around). The tree *may be* an Acacia but who knows.) The "scene" inside the lid of the box that's supposed to represent the real scene of Christmas falls VERY short with decorated Christmas trees, snow falling, and other weird stuff. So, if you just want something fun for your kiddo, this is ok I guess, but if you're actually a Christian and hoping to use it to teach your young children about Advent, this one... ain't it. While I am a Christian, I bought this one because my 5 year old is intellectually disabled and just loves carrying tiny figurines around, but I'll spend the extra (and purchase earlier) next year on a better one.

Sweet idea
Bought this as a gift for our granddaughter. She LOVED this and it helped her understand the concept of “days till” and the meaning of the Christmas celebration we believe.

Durable material
I was wanting a nativity my toddler could play with, that didn't cost $50. Got this for her to just try before making a big purchase. It's actually pretty durable and she absolutely loves it. Great set to just take out of the box so little ones have their own hands on nativity. The extra bananas and corn don't bother me either. Their a little big in comparison to the animals but for little hands their great.

Too Cute! Buy it!
My son is going through first communion this year and he has loved this Nativity Advent Calendar. We aren’t to Christmas yet, so still waiting to reveal some pieces. It is so cute and way nicer quality than I was expecting due to the price. Definitely pieces we can tuck away to reuse yearly.

Some parts were great
Loved the durability of the main parts but they included some very odd pieces. Some of the pieces were not portioned correctly… like the random ear of corn was as big as the people.

Toys are not in the right place
This is a terrible advent calendar. Everything was everywhere. We couldn’t use it as intended. Which is a shame due to the fact that this is for young kids.

Made of nice clay like material.
I thought this would be made of cheap plastic, but the figurines are actually a nice clay-like material! Plus I don't know why the other reviewers hate the bananas and corn, its a lot better than the tons of boring stars in my other sets. I'm really surprised this is such a nice set.
