I previously purchased a different style of weighted vest, which you can adjust the weights. I really did not like the design of that vest because, although it was designed for women, I felt like it pulled down too much on the chest and that area certainly does not need to be pulled down! Haha! I was looking for one designed like this that where I could still adjust the weights. I ran into this one, which has been made popular since a certain brand of home exercise equipment has added a few treadmill workouts with weighted vests. I was worried I wouldn't like that you can't adjust the weight, but, so far, I really like it! I got the 15 lb one and it seems just right. I often work out in the AM or mid-day and am on a sports team in the evening. It's about a mile walk to exercise class, so, I wear this on the walk too and from, and sometimes do a 30 min stair run/walk after working out, or, just walk/jog back. This is perfect because I'm not worn out, but, you do definitely know you're putting in more effort. You can jog easily or walk, or, really do whatever you want. Other reviewers say they keep this on while doing household chores, for example. It does have a smell, but, I kept it outside for a few days on my balcony after I was done exercising and now it's fine. The second day I had it, I left it overnight in my car and it didn't make my car smell or anything like that. It is just the normal smell that comes with Neoprene. I think it's a good value for this kind of product. I bought this instead of another similar one because it came with a bag for your phone, etc., but, I admit I haven't used the bag. I use my normal crossbody bag over the weighted vest, so that the crossbody bag strap isn't trapped. It's a little awkward, but, it works for the short distances I've used it so far.

I’ve had this vest for a week now and I’m really impressed. I purchased the 12-pound version—it fits perfectly and the phone pouch is a great touch. For anyone trying a weighted vest for the first time, I’d recommend scaling your workout back at first. I usually walk for about an hour, but I cut it down to 30 minutes the first few days to ease into it.Now that I’ve been using it for a week, I already feel stronger and have noticed a boost in endurance. It’s really added a new dimension to my workouts—almost like I’m leveling up my walk.I’ve followed the manufacturer’s suggestion to flip it inside out and hang it over a chair after use. That’s worked well so far, and I haven’t had any issues with odor (though I’ll update my review if anything changes).Overall, the 12-pound weight is perfect for me right now. I could see myself bumping up to a heavier one down the road, but for where I am, this feels just right.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I liked the way it looked versus others because it rides high and does not come too far down my back or chest. The price was right as well for the 12 pound vest, because I had a $45 gift card I needed to use. I walk my dogs at least a couple times a day (six miles total) and I’ve been hearing Dr. Andrew Huberman talk about the benefits of walking with a weighted vest. I’ve included a couple of photographs to show how it rides kind of high, but it’s very comfortable. I had a difficult time getting it on because I have a nearly 50 inch chest and I am 5‘9“ tall to help you judge how it will look on you. The 12 pounds seems very light for a nearly 200 pound guy, so it probably is best for a small dude and ladies at this weight. Someone mentioned that it has an odd smell. It is not a bad smell, it’s kind of like a new car or new workout gear smell. Kind of industrial, but not unpleasant.It’s funny that in this photograph, my phone case, the shirt, and my watch all came from Amazon!
