Ontario 12 inch Machete Nylon Sheath Only

Thick material, fits well, functional, and simple, but no retention strap. However, I did not expect a lot considering the price. Overall it serve the purpose and doesn't feel cheap.

I bought the Ontario 12in machete n didn't realize the sheath was sold separately. So I put in this order n it came in within a few days. It's decently thick so the quality isn't bad. I just think they didn't put much thought into it. They made the fit pretty tight. N if u got the machete it comes with u know it has a serrated back. They made the fit tight so the machete doesn't slide out easily. So pulling it out n putting it back in will eventually do a number on the sheath n u will have to buy another one. They could've made the fit bigger n put on some velcro to secure it would've been better. If this sheath ever does tear up like I think it will, I will be looking for a sheath exactly like I described....

this fits my 12 inch 'organic company' machete perfectly. don't intend to carry it around so not concerned about thingy to hold it in case--but case is a fairly snug fit and wants to stay on anyway. good value and much nicer than cardboard sleeve i had made.

This sheath should be included with the 12" machete, not pay separately.

As with all Ontario products this to is well constructed, light weight, simple & durable. My only additions would be a retention system in the form of a single button snap w/ strap for keeping the blade in the sheath should you become upside down or have to maneuver in an extreme fashion. I will make one from some 550 para-cord. Other than that a grommet or small hole at the end would be nice for tying sheath securely to one's leg. I have a grommet punch kit and may make this edition if the need arises.

The quality of the sheath is not bad for the money. HOWEVER, it is a little unsafe. The sheath does not retain the machete at all and it does not have any sort of strap on it to keep the machete in the sheath. I had been storing the machete in the sheath at the top of my closet. One day I grab it from the closet not realizing that it would come flying out of the sheath. If I had not been paying attention and was able to get out of the way, I would have been hit by the machete in the head, neck or in the leg. Currently I have the lanyard tied to the belt loop to keep the machete from falling out of the sheath.

Nice. Good fit for my Tramontina. Tougher on the inside than one might expect just if only considering the outside, which is sufficiently durable.

OEM perfect, thick and rigid, sturdy construction, for amazing price. However, although it has reinforcing rivets, I can imagine a razor honed machete would hasten the wear of the nylon. I wish it had a kydex liner at the cutting edge or if the whole thing was folded and riveted kydex.
