Bucilla18-Inch Christmas Stocking Felt Applique Kit, Santa Poinsettia Tree

Just finished this beautiful stocking kit, the 5th or 6th one I have done. These take time, and I recommend you line the inside with fabric (quick/easy part). The effort is all worth it as these make for beautiful decorations, gifts, and family traditions.

I completed two stocking years ago, now need two more and was thrilled kits were still available. They are beautiful and relaxing to work on. Beginners may find overwhelming but following steps will give you a wonderful finished project. Don't hesitate to try completing this kit

I bought this in September to make for my daughter who will be almost 8 months old at Christmas. It is a very time consuming project - I wish I had made it when pregnant instead of now when I'm caring for my very mobile baby! - but very user-friendly to do. It is literally a sew-by-number project. You do need to purchase a bag of filler (such as polyester fiberfill) to stuff the different parts of it to give it the 3-D effect. Some sewing knowledge is needed - I would say that you should definitely know applique and satin or split stitches at the very least. (The directions say to use satin stitch, but I have trouble with that so I used split stitch instead and it turned out beautifully.) To make sure that this was totally usable, I applique stitched red flannel to the inner sides so that any treats from Santa wouldn't inadvertently rip the stitches out. I also added a 1-inch band of fabric around the edge so that it has a bit more depth to it. (see pictures.) Overall, it has turned out absolutely beautifully. Love it, and will be making more of these for my husband and any future babies that I may have!

This was my first stocking. It was so easy and fun! The instructions were easy to follow and there were plenty of supplies.

I made these stockings for our close family friends, and I had a theme in mind. I wanted all three stockings to seem part of a set. This one was for the son. It was one of the easier stockings to assemble, although it had quite a few parts. It would definitely be doable for a beginner, though! As usual with Bucilla kits, I had more than enough supplies to finish, and I "banked" the remainder of the beads and floss for further projects. I make tons of these stocking every year (as gifts), so I've a bit of a horde of extra beads, sequins and floss.

I have done numerous stockings from these kits. All items needed are included, instructions are complete and easy to follow. Time consuming but worth it.

I’m a beginner. If I have questions about what I’m doing, I Youtube it. This is a beautiful stocking and I’m enjoying making it for my daughter. I’ve got about 40 hours in it and still have a way to go to finish it, but I think it can be done before Christmas. Its foolproof if you follow the directions. It is a beautiful pattern and the materials are quality. .....it’s finished! It took 9 months working on it in spare time. It’s very beautiful. Pictures don’t do it justice. As you can see, I didn’t add the last holly touches along the left side. I wish I had extra felt to line it with.

My grandmother always made the newest member of the family a bucilla felt stocking. They are beautiful! I love putting up the stockings each year and thinking about my grandmother and how much she cared for her family. The oldest stocking in our family is over 60 years old and still in great condition. My grandmother has since passed so I have taken over the stocking making. This was my first one. I really enjoyed it. It was time consuming. I probably spent 30+ hours on it but loved every minute. Very clear directions. I am not a novice sewer/crafter but if a beginner took their time and only learned a few basic stitches they would be successful in making thus stocking. It sure made me appreciate the care my grandmother put into each and everyone.

I've made a large number of this type of stockings over the years. every family member has on. We've had a an adult male addition to the family so had to do one for him.I wasn't too sure about the colours initially , but it turned out lovely. He loves it.

These bucilla kits never disappoint. Excellent quality and easy instructions to follow. Arrived quicker than expected.
