The violin has the correct measurements and neck angle. It is made from fine materials: - Very tight close grain spruce top. - Refined figured maple neck, back and sides. (See images.) - Quality ebony fingerboard and pegs. The violin is carved precisely, making the instrument lighter than most other student violins. The varnish is delightfully applied and thin, unlike almost all similar student instruments with their thick coats of nitro-cellulose lacquer. This outfit has been upgraded by fitting Dominant strings, a quality tailpiece and a good octagonal bow (fully mounted with Parisian eye). The violin comes with a good quality oblong style case.
