A good yoyo for the price.. but could be better.
Overall, this is a pretty decent starter yoyo for learning basic tricks. It is a good weight, and the quality is nice. It comes with a nice little carry bag and 6 strings. The body can also be disassembled to swap/replace the bearing or do whatever you need to do. I do find it a little funny that they call this a "professional" yoyo for "beginners" in the description.. seems like those two things kinda conflict. This one might take a little more break-in than some. Getting it to sleep takes a little more finesse than other's I've tried. I have a couple other yoyos made by Magic YoYo and I'm happy with all of them for the most part. I've only tried a handful of the basic tricks with this one so far. I can get it to sleep if I throw it somewhat soft.. but then it doesn't have a lot of speed, and it is fairly touchy, and will decide on its own to hop back up the string randomly. And I have yet to get it to complete an around-the-world without zipping back up the string early. I can get it to hold on long enough for a rock-the-baby and a couple others.. so there's that.Like I said, it may just take a little more time and use to get things broken in and working smoother, so I'll keep at it. I generally keep a couple yoyos on my desk at work and use them as a little break between tasks to relax a bit. This one seems decent so far for that, and it's a good value for what you get.

Good 2a looping yoyo
This is actually a pretty nice 2a yoyo at a good price magic yoyo makes some dang good yoyos at good prices! Ignore low review scores from people stating it does not sleep/spin well as this is a 2a looping yoyo and it is not meant to sleep for long periods or for sting tricks. If your new to yoyoing I highly recommend you look up videos on the different styles of play, yoyos are made different for each style some sleep long some are made to come right back (loopers). 1a, 2a, 3a, 4a, and 5a are the most common styles of play. This yoyo really reminds me of a Duncan speed beetle just without silicone pads and a bit slimmer. It loops smooth and is highly responsive. Sleep time maybe 20 seconds or so. It is able to be unscrewed incase you get a bind or knot, and has 2 spacers with a very tiny bearing. It uses a star pattern as a response system which I'm not a huge fan of, but works totally fine for a 2a yoyo plus side is you will never have to replace it like you do with silicone pads.Magic yoyo makes some pretty darn nice yoyos I have a few the N8, N5 Desperado both unresponsive metal yoyos and now this D3 Dawn looper. I have been very surprised by the quality on all of them. They play just as good as my more expensive yoyos which are worth around $200 each vs the magic yoyos which have all been under $20 each.Really cant recommend magic yoyo enough if your new or even if you have been playing with yoyos a long time and already own a lot of nice ones. They play great and are cheap so you don't have to worry about dinging your $200 ar-t yoyo on the pavement when your out side or on the go.

Very disappointing
I'll start with the positives. It's a nice looking yo-yo and the included extras are great. I wish there was more.I barely played with this. If you tighten it enough that it stays together, it won't sleep. If you loosen it enough that it'll sleep, it's so loose that it feels like it's going to come apart. I was excited for this but unfortunately really can't recommend it.

We LOVE Magic Yoyo Brand!
Ever since seeing the yoyo artist on AGT this year, my son has been obsessed. We got him a double set of Magic YoYo brand yoyos early on. The crystal and metal one and when I came across the D3, I knew it was a must have for his collection since the other 2 are wider. He's working on some tricks, but definitely still learning so this yoyo is a nice addition to let him get a more traditional yoyo experience, while still being able to have this one grow with his skill. Love that they include extra string and a carry bag as well. A little extra value and much more than you would find in a toy store. And trust me, if you want to spin it around and do the crazy tricks, you're going to need extra string. it does wear out. After my son started taking his yo-yos around, all his friends wanted one, and we've been recommending Magic Yo-yo as a high quality starter kit for them to maximize the fun. This brand is also particularly great if you want the option of customizing your yo-yo further (as far as transitioning it to being unresponsive), or if you are just a tinkerer, it easily comes apart and any of the pieces can be replaced. This is definitely our brand of choice!

Good brain style yoyo for beginners
Thanks to YouTube shorts and TikTok, my daughter wanted to learn how to throw a yoyo and learn some cool basic yoyo tricks. So this fits the bill and she really likes the transparent purple color. The extra colorful strings will come in handy later because she's little now and the first string needs to be trimmed to fit her height. The weight of the yoyo is also nice - not so light that the throw feels weak, and not too heavy that a young kid cannot control the throw. The spinning of the yoyo is smooth and the ball bearing sound is noticeable when it's "sleeping" (I guess that's normal?) :PI personally don't know much about yoyos (brain vs butterfly, what?) but I know my daughter is having fun throwing this around and learning the basics to pull off some cool tricks. There's a little bag to store the yoyo and avoid scratches on the outer shell too. Not a bad price for her to try and find out if yoyos are her thing with this "high performance/professional" looping yoyo for beginners. Now excuse us while we go watch some video tutorials on YouTube on how to throw a yoyo properly...
