After trying to perform a job round the back of my car dashboard (where I couldn't see) I decided I needed an inspection mirror, and a lighted one at that.I looked at a few different types, and there are some (admittedly without a light) but that are a mere fraction of what this costs.But I prefer to spend a bit more on tools, and have something that will last, and after seeing these, decided this is what I would go for.I was under the impression these were made in the USA, as it does state that for some Ullman mirrors, and the company proudly states 'Ullman Devices Connecticut'.However, when I received the mirror, the first thing that hit me was 'made in China' both on the product itself (sticker), and the back of the packet. I was disappointed immediately as production only moves to China for one reason - to save costs. Presumably 'Made in USA' is for the older manufactured tools.VERDICT:I hoped that the inspection mirror itself would still be a top quality tool, but it doesn't feel like it. It may extend to 35 inches, but it feels a bit wobbly at this length, and could quite easily break. The mirror itself is fine, but the strip that you need to pull out in order to make the light functional was very hard to remove. And changing the batteries (when it is needed) will no doubt be a mission, as there is no easy and obvious way to gain access behind the mirror. The mirror is housed in plastic, and this doesn't feel that strong.You're paying a premium price for this, but you are not getting a premium product for your money. It's hard to believe that these are as expensive as they are (Approx £24), and I imagine they are simply cashing in on the name/heritage. If I saw this in a shop, I would expect to pay not much more than half of the price. I wish that I had looked harder online, and spent my money on something that was worth it.
